2011 Mazda CX-9 GT
I updated my iPad today with IOS 5. I can still only play, pause and skip tracks. I still cannot see any song information. I was hoping it would support AVCRP 1.3 profiles. Has anyone else had any better luck with their Apple devices on IOS 5?

Updated iPhone 3GS to iOS5 and 2010 CX-9 GT (Type B) now displays song information (does not display running time though).

StealthSp3Ed depends on your head unit, which one do you have? My Mazda6 with the MID/Display shows TTAG now with iOS5 (although the running time seems broken- stuck at 0:00). Not sure about my 2010 CX-9 sGT, which has Nav. Supposedly the 2011 CX-9 Nav headunit was updated to handle 1.3 AVRCP. Will know tonight.

I have a 2012 with Nav, and painfully upgraded to iOS5 and I still don't get song info. I even un-paired and re-paired the phone to the car. I thought iOS5 was supposed to be able to handle the AVCRP info, but I guess not. Or maybe it was just my painful iOS upgrade that caused an issue with my phone (among other bugs I have found with iOS5...for instance: I can't turn off my data protection on my phone). :|

It does handle TTAG, unfortunately there do appear to be some bugs apple needs to work out. Even though my head unit seems to work it does periodically drop TTAG and never tracks elapsed time. This is either a BT anomaly or a bug with ios5.

I have a 2011 CX9 with navigation. I may try to re-pair my iPad (gen 1). My Blackberry Storm II shows track info, so I know this head unit can support this feature.

FYI tried this in our 2010 CX 9 with Nav and same behavior as my 6. Song info comes up but running time is stuck on 0:00. So I'm guessing the running time problem is iPhone related.

I also noticed some weird behavior where the song info got out of sync with the song. For instance song 1 info appeared for song 2. Rebooting iPhone 4 appeared to clear it up.

I'm using an iPhone 4 on my 2012 CX-9 GT with Nav and I get nothing. Same as before I upgraded to iOS5...all I get is the name of my paired iPhone. No song title or time elapsed. I only have the ability to play/pause/skip. :(

I have a 2009 Touring without nav. Wondering if Mazda bluetooth will communicate with Siri on iPhone 4S. It would be great if Siri could use the car's speaker and microphone. Anyone know if this works?

Hmmm, have not tried Siri yet. Worth a try, was actually thinking of mounting my iPhone on the dash for GPS usage and now that BT TTAG works (mostly).

Siri worked for me over BT. Pairing no problems. Song info havent tried yet.

My 3gs w/ iOS 5.0 does not display song info on my 2011 with NAV.

Are you guys on iOS 5.1?

I tried pairing a new iPhone 4S with iOS 5.0.1 and also an iPod Touch with iOS 5.0.1 and they both only allow basic play/pause/skip. No track information is shown. Maybe someday this will work.

I tried using Siri but it confuses the Mazda since the voice commands are different. It does play the Siri voice responses over the car's speakers.

Hi guys, just to report on my 2011 CX9 (MY12) with satnav + bose, I can play BT audio from my iphone 4, but the song info only comes out sometimes. And another time, it wills stuck on the first song it played. Anyone has the same experience?

I have been following a thread on the Apple support forums with other Mazda owners reporting problems with their Apple devices. I have tried the IOS 5.1 update and I have the same problem.

There has been no solution found, but different users have a Mazda regional manager looking at the issue, and another user has opened case case with Apple.

Anyone else had any luck getting the song information to display?

Siri will work over the factory bluetooth if you activate it from the phone itself. If you use the button on the steering wheel, you will get Mazda's voice recognition system. It's a bit of a pain, but Siri's voice recognition is much better than Mazda's and it recognizes spoken names as well. To me, it is worth pushing the home button as opposed to activating it from the steering wheel.

At least that is how it works on my 08. I can't speak to any bluetooth streaming issues as us owners of the older models are stuck with the Aux jack only.

I just updated to Ios 5.1 last night so hopefully that doesn't break anything new.

no compatible phones available for 2011 GT

I just reviewed Mazda's bluetooth compatibility site (http://mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=bluetooth) and I reviewed all AT&T and Verizon phones for a 2011 CX-9 GT with navigation. There were over 200 phones listed, and NOT ONE showed that the bluetooth audio would "Displays Song Information". All 200+ phones were listed as "Not available". I got tired of clicking through all the manufacturers, but after selecting 2 of the major carriers, I have concluded that NO PHONE works with Mazda's feature. I am at a loss to why Mazda even has this on this vehicle if they cannot certify ANY phone to work well with the bluetooth audio.

This is crap.
