Wow. There is a lot to respond to.

Auto/Manual rant: Regardless of what all you guys want to say I'm probably just going to stick with going automatic for my first car. I know manual is more of a "drive" but I prefer automatic only because I like to sit in weird positions while I am driving (i.e. my left foot out the window- and yes; this is comfortable and yes I still have full control of my car).

Joel: You took my sanity away the day I started dating you so these forums won't do any damage. Plus how could you say that I only wanted to come on here to keep tabs on the meets? How do you know that I didn't want to come on here because I soon TOO will be a Mazda owner and I want to bond with other Mazda owners? Jerk.


As far as what I'm getting: IM NOT GETTING WHITE OR BLACK! GOD! First off; I don't like white cars (sorry Anna; they aren't my taste) and I HATE black cars (sorry Joel)... I'm HOPING for a Blue or Red car. Mostly Red. I <3 red cars.

I sense a swap - 2.3 DISI into a sedan...IT...COULD...WORK!!!

I had this discussion with slo03.5msp at the last Sonic Meet. It's do able, and I've had the thought as the wife would like the zoom without the shifting. It's easier for her, just a headache for me with the install. I have been told there are a few headaches with this process. My concerns came with the trans, but I was informed the stock trans on the 2.3 MZ3 would be just fine. She just needs to learn to shift so i don't have to pull what hair I have left out.

i love seeing great ideas like this, lets cultivate more of these into actual dollars being transacted.

as for the DISI mzr swap into an automatic3 - seriously, you're better off boosting the present engine with a tripoint or F2 kit. less money spent overall, easier to tune and pass emissions, the same or more power at lower boost levels.

I have no idea what you're talking about. The direct injection is a cinch to tune. Just crank boost in all gears up to 30psi (change no other tables at all) and hammer it.
