Hey everyone!

Not really sure what I'm supposed to do as an intro thread but say that my name is Traci-and currently I'm not really driving a car but look to getting a 2005 Mazda 3 Sedan in the fall..

Thank you kindly to both of you; I really am looking forward to getting the Mazda 3.. A friend of mine has it and I love the size and the way it drives; SO beautiful!

Hahaha. Sedans are da bomb. And nothing wrong with automatics. Most are faster than sticks nowadays anyways.

who left the front door unlocked and let this chica in? just when you thought it was safe to go on the forums...

why do you think this? thats really not true unless A) you don't know how to drive stick properly or B) its a GTO :) there are few cars in the quarter mile that are the same speed trans VS trans, and fewer that are measurably faster. gearboxes like the new Evo or VW DSG don't count.

there are plenty of reasons to not like automatics. they arguably break easier than a simpler manual transmission. fuel economy is better with a manual transmission. until very very recently you couldn't get a gear box with as many gears as a manual transmission. they're more expensive to replace or repair. they're one more option for the final price tag (as much as $1000 for some cars or more).

yeah, at the end of the day its nice on a commuter car to be able to slam it into D (which i'm told stands for "drive", even though there is substantially less "driving" involved) and putz around our congested hell holes without having to use your right arm for something other than picking a radio station or setting down your iced mocha latte comfortably into the cupholder. i'll agree to all that being the case from a comfort standpoint. but automatics - unless you're building one to rip down the 1/4 mile - have alot to be desired from a performance standpoint.

Oh god, not another lecture.

did you expect anything otherwise, seriously ;) any chance i can get to force feed some common sense i simply have to take. it'd be unthinkable to have it any other way.

i could have started in on sedans VS hatches after all

ive been driving stick in stop and go traffic for 6+ years now. ive never felt the need to complain about clutching and shifting, even when id have bum knees from biking/snowboarding. there is no reason to get automatic unless you are physically disabled, in my abrasive, semi-humble opinion.

Alright lets not s*** on this thread. Thanks.

if there was a roll large enough for all the s*** on this forum

this would still not be large enough
