Last night on my way back home I noticed something very strange ! As I was stopping due to a red signal, I had noticed that the lights of the Car's stereo are blinking !! as I was playing a CD. when I was moving, the blinking stops. yet this happened for several times, until I reached my house and looked again at my stereo but it was not blinking !!! but I had the feeling that the blinks were related to the beats of the song, or shall I say related to the drum beats or something !! is it normal guys ?!! or something is wrong !!

Were you adjusting the volume just before you noticed the lights? If you're talking about the strip of lights to the left and right of the volume knob, they illuminate when you adjust the volume (left lights for up volume, right lights for down volume).

Moved to Car Audio forum.

No probably a voltage drop.

Was the volume up alot when you were stopped at a light?

The Alternator makes less charge when you are stopped and if you are " Bumpin' "
That will cause voltage spikes that would make the lights dim.

Probably not with an OEM deck! :) If anything, the lights should blink less when you "bump" since there is less voltage.

I only had my factory HU installed for the ride home before I ripped it out, but I don't remember the LEDs on the side of the volume knob that goldwing2000 is talking about...

Someone has too much time on their hands. :) J/K

Yeah, that's the blinking I remember.

You know, it's too bad there wasn't a quality HU company out there that would make a HU that looked like stock, but was stuffed with all the features a more discrening customer might like; such as parametric EQ, crossover, high-power, 3 sets of RCA outs, time alignment, iPod interface, MP3 capability, etc. It would be nice to keep the stock look, yet have decent tunes. And we'd still have our cool LED blinkies. :) I know, I know - manufacturers create products that cater to the mass market, not the niche. And yes, I realize doing this would involve a whole lot of different units for the various vehicles. I can dream can't I?

Well goldwing, no I was not adjusting the volume, and I know that there is a light strip for thw voulme, well as for the voulme ! mmm.. it was a bit high, but not that much that makes your car shakes !! I mean it was almost a normal level ! well dunno, but I am taking it for service tomorrow and I will ask them to check this thing for me !!
ya one more thing, do you all also have the problem with the noisy FM channels !! cause some are crystal clear where the other are not !! well din't have this problem on my VR6 !!
