I've finally to get off my ass and actually route a sprayer to the stock IC after I found out how much alittle water will help when you need a short burst of 110%. I poured 1/3 of a 20oz water bottle after each run at the local AutoX today on the top of the IC so that it'd trickle down the front fins. The temperature drop was almost instant.

Granted after 40+ seconds of romping on it the IC was hot again, but a sprayer is a good cheap mod to think about...

Co2 sprayer is a better idea :P
Yeah, but it's a lot more expensive & I don't think the minimal performance difference would justify the higher price. Plus, water is free to refill, but C02 isn't.

Cost of a good C02 system is gonna be about 50 bucks, homemade. I use two 9 oz and one 14oz bottle that I got from a friend. The power increase is definately noticeable.

Once I get off my lazy ass to do it, I'm going to reroute my windshield washer system to spray on the intercooler.

Intercooler Sprayer - MSP

Is it possible to have some details of the components used and some pictures if available.
I want to do same based on the extra power you can feel when driving under heavy rainy conditions.
I was also thinking about rerouting windshield washer but then you have to find a way to run pump only w/o wipers .... Any suggestion ?
Thanks

Heh, you just reminded me that I did that... I totally forgot about it. :P

i did that on my msp the problem with the windshield sprayer is that every time you spray the dam wipers will wipe the windshield a couple of times. I bought a very fine mist sprayer from home depot and used that. I eventually took it off cause of the wipers always moving and as well as I couldn't tell a difference.

Go Co2 or go home.

Try disconnecting the wiper motor when you use the washer sprayer to cool the intercooler. Haven't tried it but it should still operate the washer system. Also remember if you try a water sprayer on the track you will most likely get kicked out..

sorry for the tj-

505zoom- July 19th. is the Sport compact series at the valley. I plan on completely gutting the MSP, just wondering if you are anywhere near NY and would wanna come play.

NM.....nevermind :(

CO2 is definetly a more efficient method, but with water you can spray while acclerating and not suck Co2 into your engine, slowing you down. No, I'm not saying to spray while you're running on the track, but it's a nice little boost while exiting a toll plaza or getting on the highway. I think I might run both so I can use them in either situation. An FMIC would be nice, too, but that's a few months away, at the least. Also, I meant to add that I can see the temp gauge drop ever so slightly after a good 5-10 second spray.

Like Jersey mentioned, I'm just going to tap it off my wipers. I'll have pictures and what not aswell when I get it done this week.

BlkZoomZoom- I never thought about the possible hazard the water could create at a track, so I'll just spray between runs in the grid. Thanks for the heads up :)

Brain- I'm taking donations through the Foundation for the Advancement and Betterment of Marc's MSP.

i am going to buy an extra washer setup and wire up a switch in the cab so that i don't interfere with the wipers...
