Intakes and performance

I went to Autozone and got one of those $20 cone intakes... I didn't notice any difference on the performance, but it's worth the suction sound when you turn the car off. "Aaaahhhhhh" -protege. I just cut a little hole in it for the sensor and zip-tied the rest of it on there.. it hasn't fallen out yet!

Some of my friends were telling me to get a CAI, should I bother?

A lot of people have done the cone filter thing. Its a nice cheap mod. The only thing I can say that might give a difference is the piping. The plastic piping is not a smooth surface like a nice polished metal will be. This restricts the air flow less technically. Who knows if you'd see any gains or even be able to notice them.

I have the AEM Short Ram I did notice a little better throttle response, and I believe that the higher end feels a bit better when the VICS kicks in. Just seems more peppy at the 4500 RPM point than it did before installing it.

you have pretty low coolant level....

my coolant level is above the full line for some reason??

mine is too dont worry - tttp5. interesting convo on here guys, im still trying to debate what to buy also, but i mean, that little hp gain? i think the generic ones on ebay are calling out my name. our car is slow... no offense to anyone, and i think the best thing to do to get the most hp gain is save up for some turbo or get nos. thats big $$$ though :( . but personally, i doubt intake, headers, piping, and exhaust will add on that much power. interesting to read guys, keep up the good work! peace - chris
