ok guys i just bought a megan exhaust does it matter what intake i get like is the 30$ ebay one just as good as the full intake? let me know asap

i use the ebay one, some other guys do too! its mostly just for sound, doesn't actually do anything. Just switch the filter

You could feel some slightly better throttle response. EBay intake is fine (pipe is pipe) but switch the filter for something like an AEM driflow or a k&n filter. The eBay filters dont really last/can shred apart.

yepyep what they said^^, if you want the best performance gain (although i dont think it'll be much) go with a cold air intake instead of a short ram. check the marketplace or craigslist, i picked up my injen CAI for $50 locally. the cheapest 'new' cold air can be found here http://simotausa.com/mazdaprotegecoldairintakesystem.aspx

In my opinion...it was a blessing that the Ebay one was sold out. I did buy the Ebay special, but it always rattled against my master cylinder. I can't stand it when cars have rattling noises, so I cut it shorter, tried making a pad for it, took a hammer to it, but ended up biting the bullet and getting the AEM short ram. I really like it, and it fits perfectly. Plus the AEM looks SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pretty under the hood.

I have to admit that I miss the sound of the Ebay intake. It was a nice deep throaty sound, but that was a small sacrafice. I also think that intake is a must when coupled with exhaust. It opens the car up on both ends. I'm also running an OBX header, 2.5" catted midpipe, and the Megan cat back. I love my set up now.

hot damn, an injen CAI for 50 bucks?! Craigslist here I come!
