so say i want to put a k&n filter on my car, the stock intake box has a sensor plug in it, what is this? and if i install a filter where do i put this sensor?
It is short ram intake only, and includes a filter. It's not a $60 KN filter but it is a decent filter and cleanable.
I never used the cold air pipe and ended up misplacing it.
As far as that sensor, it is for air temp. And there are 2 things that you can do, well 3 i guess
1. just zip tie out of the way
2. cut hole in filter and put there
3. get 3" piece of pipe, drill hole, and you have just enough room for filter still
I had it sold for less than $75 including shipping. 1st buyer fell through. It let me reauction it for free, but at BUY IT NOW only, and for the amount of the last bid. I'm going to go look in garage bc i may have small piece of pipe i could include for air temp sensor.
my air temp sensor i just have in piece of rubber and zip tied near battery
as far as the recirculation valve. less than $5 bucks at home depot for a little 90 degree elbow and less than a foot of hose
I reccomend just cutting a small whole in the filter and pushing the sensor in. I directly bolted a filter onto my MAF sensor from stock piping, and did that with my sensor. That is what prevented my check engine light from coming on. Hope this helps.
Would I be able to find a good price on ebay for any type of filter? Is there any other websites in which I can find filters for reasonable prices. I am thinking about making filters out of an ordinary furnace filter, if this does not work well I would need to purchase the filters separately, I'm looking for a good place to purchase them for a reasonable price, as I did loose my job a couple weeks ago. If anyone can help that would be great, cheers!
