What is the CX-5 replacing? Maybe your prior car was more expensive to insure or maybe you were being ripped-off by your insurance co.

My premium went up a few dollars when I purchased my CX-5. Previously had a Nissan Maxima.

I went from a 2004 explorer sport trac, to a 2016 cx-5 and my insurance went up by 20$ a month, but 5$ of that monthly increase was to add full replacement value in case of write-off.

The annual premium for my 2015 CX-5 is $3,800 which seems to be fairly reasonable for the vehicle segment.

that's a lot of cash, are you a young driver? mine is around 1200 a year, for both me and my wife, we are both 37. and I had at at fault collision 2 years ago that had a claim of almost 6000$ dollars.

ouch!
looks like MI is not a cheap state to drive in.

hehe:
Rates are highest in Detroit, where some residents fudge addresses to get a break on rates. Still others deal with high rates by signing up for insurance to register their cars and then dropping the coverage.

I pay $950 for two cars/drivers :) :)

Depends on area and policy. I carry the maximum legal limits, and pay $2000ish/year. The only way to get better coverage is a $1M USD umbrella estate type policy.

Either you're a bad driver, live in a bad section of town or had multiple claims that's too high. I have a 08 CR-V EXL and a 16 CX-5 Touring, full coverage on both, extra liability, rental the whole nine yards and pay $1,700.00 per year through Nationwide.

Very similar here, only 09' CRV LX and 14' CX5 Touring and pay $1700 full coverage. Insured by Wawanesa.

Interesting what you guys are paying for insurance. I thought we pay too much, but apparently I'm not compared to down south.
Full coverage, $1m liability, is $490 / year.
I also have a Ford F150 4x4 and its about the same at $530

If my premium was $3800/yr, I sure the heck would not be driving a CX5.

$950/year with $100 collision deductible and $50 deductible for comp. If i was forced to pay $3800 I'd get a horse...
