Instuctions On How To Install Tein Springs

I got a problem. First of very nice how-to, very clean and easy. Now on to my problem, working still on the first spring on the rear driver side, I got all bolts loose except for the sway bar link. The freaking nut was to tight and I basically messed up the nut. Got pissed and started trying to work the nut on the link holding the sway bar. That one felt like it was giving in but when I look at it now both the nut and bolt move in unison when I turn the nut. As far as I can see there is no way to hold the bolt down in place so it wont turn. if anyone has any ideas please let me know, otherwise I'll probably just take it to a shop and get the springs installed.

Thanks

endlinks

same SH*#@! happened to me this passed weekend but all but ONE broke. so, i'm making an NEW set but adjustable for all around. instead of purchasing name brand ones. CHEAPER!!! plus i have a majority of the resources at work, to order parts.. i can keep you posted on wat i used if you'd like. but i did out-source a machine shop to do the turn shaft for me(it adjusts the tension tight or loose)..

thanx for the offer yeller but I broke one of my rear ones trying to angle the strut cause I was told it could be done just by angling right, well that didnt happen so I gave up and broke the other rear one as well and decided that I'll get the AWR swaybar and tokico blues from protegegarage.

front ones came out without a problem though.

get an allen wrench and put it in the middle of the end link stud, use it to hold the stud in place while you loosen the nut

you should need an alignment after this, unless you can figure out the max camber settings by eye and then just tighten --> I'll try this today, and if im unsuccessful, brag about how well it went.

ended up deciding to get tokiko blues and AWR rear swaybar, will order that next week, so I'm not gonna bother with alignment till then.

Huascar82 what exactly did you break while doing the spring install. Next weekend will be my time to do this so I want to avoid breaking anything I can!!!

army_mec, first the driver side rear nut that holds the end link got stripped, couldnt get a grip on it. later I was told by someone on here that I could angle the strut without the need to remove the endlink, that didnt work, ended up braking the plastic part of the endlink, so I gave up and broke the other one.

their bs, even with the allen key holding it in the centre the hex head just crumbles, the sides are super thin if theres any corrosion whatsoever.

I ended up popping mine off, which still broke em/their real weak. If you can get em off without breaking them, your doing something special and we'd love to hear about it.

I did end up getting mine off w/out too much of a problem. I soaked the s*** out of them w/ WD40 and let them sit for a bit. I also had to use an allen head tip + socket to fit tip + ratchet on the last two; that seemed to make it a bit easier w/out breaking stuff.<O:p</O:p
I also think the fairly low miles on the car had some to do with it (21K) so there was not much corrosion.

dugg, yeah you might be right about the low milage, mine had 43k when I did changed springs and I live in philly, (car has always been on the east coast). I left mine swoaking overnight with WD40 and they still didnt budge. On the other hand, front ones where a breeze to take off. I think using a impact wrench would have made things easier though (like others have said) but I didnt want to spend the money on the impact wrench and the compressor.

Yeh im thinking the impact will get them off easy if not ill just cut them with the whiz wheel cause im getting new ones anyway.

oh then yeah laser, make it as easy as you can, specially since you are getting new ones, AWR?. (unless you might want to sell them or something)
