Installing satellite radio antenna...

I have an alpine head unit and I'm thinking about buying the sirius sattelite tuner. I won't have a problem with installing the tuner itself but I am not sure how I will run the antenna. I found a few posts where people mounted the antenna on the dashboard in front of the windshield. However, i'm also hearing that you will get better sound quality and a better signal if the antenna is mounted on the roof. Does anyone have any advice for how to do this on my Mazda3? Better yet, any instructions with pictures? I found a post with some great pics on how to mount it on the dash but I'm not sure if this is the way to go.

Any help you could provide would be great. Thanks.

James your best chance of recieving a uninterupted signal is allways goint to be to mount it on the highest point of the car..Which is the roof. As for mounting most antennas for Sat radio mount with a combination strong magnet and duoble sided tape...I will see if I can find a pic of the one on my TGM3....

you can tuck the wire under the rubber trim around the windsheild (front or rear) a tiny right angle tool from a pick set works perfect.

James - I've already lost track of where I found it but I downloaded a PDF today that shows full instructions on setting a cabling/antennas for the 3 sedan and hatch, including removal of the interior panels and such. Should be exactly what you need.

It doesn't seem to be attaching here. I can email it if you like. Let me know.
