installed Walbro, now bogging

yes, i recently installed a walbro 255 fuel pump into the Probe. now when i get on the boost, all she does is bog and backfire. sounds like a DSM when they run a 2-step. pops and hesitates under boost. am i over running my FPR or is it something else?

The higher flowing fuel pump has increased your base fuel pressure.

Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pressure gauge?

If so, put your base fuel pressure back to what it was before the new pump was installed.

If not, buy and install them, then do the above.

A/F guage goes blank when its happening. seems i missed a small plastic spacer from the old pump assembly. gonna take it out and do it again. thank you mazda for an access door in the rear seat!!

yep, i goofed the install. got the plastic spacer on. all is good in the land of boost. 16 psi is fun

I take it you got the Miata one, but I see two ont here. The 255lph-HP (part #GSS342) and the 255 lph (GSS317).

What's the difference?
