Hey i just got my turboxs dp/rp installed and now i am getting boost spikes at about 24-29psi and it will either like glitch or hiccup at WOT. Before i installed it i was running a perfect 19psi with basically a mbc and intake only. Does anyone know why it would jump up this much? I know that i removed 2 cats relieving a lot of back pressure but i didn't think it would spike this much.

That's a crazy spike, I have the same set up (plus SRI/TIP/BPV) and was spiking to 18-20 psi. 29 is nuts. I've been re-tuning my Forge BPV a bit. I installed the red spring with the TurboXS SBE and was getting some boost cut. I went back to the blue spring with 1 shim and it's running better with no boost cut, at least for now. Not sure why your spiking so high??? What other mods do you have? I'll have to start looking for your car I live right down the highway from you, in P-town...

omg there is another speed3 owner close by!! lol i have yet to find someone :)

i don't what is going on with it. im going to try and turn down the boost with the mbc tomorrow. im only running injen cai, forge bpv blue spring, hallman mbc, atp bcd, turboxs sbe, and a su mm. its just weird. i got the dp/rp installed and now im spiking like crazy! im hoping just turning it down the boost will fix it.

no way 29psi with just a glitch or hiccup!, your lucky man. I can see 24psi happening but damn thats alot... show me a datalog from your dashhawk please!!. The ecu will boost cut long before that, and a boost cut is not like a hiccup it's almost violent cutoff of power, a hiccup is your fuel pressure dropping and the car is fuel cutting. You need to turn your mbc wayy down as said above, and get a fuel pump or internals. then the hiccup will go away. What does your dashhawk read for boost (use the pid that is boostpsi only not vac/boost)?. The prosport may be off if thats what your watching.

He's got the BCD which bleeds boost at the MAP so the ecu won't boost cut.

I'm not sure how you've got the MBC hooked up but you may need to hook it up to the BPV line (where most tap into for their boost gauges). When I had my MBC on, I tried all kinds of different hook-ups and that was the most consistent by far.

Try Disconnecing the MBC and then recheck to see what your ECU is doing to control boost.

I think that if you are going to run the MBC you are going to have to set it back to 16 pounds of boost or so with this much increased flow.

Remember that the more air you have flowing through the intake and out the exhaust, the less boost that air will need you need to stay at the upper end of safe engine parameters. The catless dp/rp will let you push a lot more air through the engine.

Could be wrong, but I'd check to see what spikes, if any, I'm getting without the MBC blocking boost cut and then go from there before messing with other things.

I turned down my boost and now I'm at 20psi with no cuts so far. I'm going to do some more testing one I get off work.

i turned it down but its still kind of getting some type of boost cut when my dashhawk still only reads 11psi. i think i'm just going to get either the cobb ap or sandback and hopefully that will help out.

I'm intermittently getting some fuel/boost cut as well. Not quit sure which yet, they seem to be some what related in my situation. If it's boost cut then it's triggering some fuel cut when I hit the wall. Most of the time my fuel PSI 1600 up through the 1700+ range when accelerating. Still trying to troubleshoot it. I'm thinking my next step with my current mods has to be a fuel pump upgrade and possibly some new (1 step colder plugs.) My Dashhawk is reading lower fuel pressure readings sometimes than I want at WOT on the freeway in 4th & 5th gear pulls. Not all the time but more than once is more than I want...(pissed) I hate that feeling when your car is pulling hard then all of a sudden BOOM no power, DAMN... the joys of modifications. (crazy)

NO REALLY??? WTF. What do you think the point is reviewing these threads. I've been doing this for quite a while now so, thanks for the "hot tip" but not all of us doing mods are clueless...

it was directed to comeback chill out dude....try colder plugs....if you dont have clamp and you are on stock ecu it will cut no mater what if you are above stock boost....Fuel pump is a must and colder plugs when you modding and you wont get far without somekind of boost cut eliminator or tune....

I'm chill man, thanks for clarifying. As we all know when modding, one thing leads to another. Change the dynamics of one thing and it affects something else... that's the fun part of tuning, sometimes...haha. (sun)
