Installed the Standback

all shops i've seen tune ...per hour. just telll them you are not willing to pay for more than 2 hours of dyno time. that is enough time to tweak and dyno at least 10 times. if they cant do it in that much time.. they arent very good at what they do. CP-E spent a lot of time giving us very good base maps. there is not a whole lot for the shop to do.

but they didn't spend alot of time giving us different base maps for the different aftermarket setups available, so that= more dyno time for people who don't have cp-e products like their intake.

Yeah someday when I get the ems I would like to be able to have it tuned for my Fujita intake. So if anyone out there has an ems and Fujita with a map tune, save it cause some of us might need it.

i'll have some fujita maps in like...hmm 6 months :(

i don't think that the fujita will cause the fuel trim to be as far off as the other intakes, like the MS one.

true aftermarket parts can be tuned to show more power. but having a good base, is a great start. only fuel/timing will need tweaking. its really not hard. i'm thinking of tuning it myself. there is a place by me that rents out their dyno by the hour. they drive it on the rollers, for insurance reasons, but you can tune your own ride ! the only thing stopping me is.... its a mustang dyno. all of my many previous dynos have been on dynojets. plus it was like $75 per hour instead of $150 like most shops want to tune it for you.

ha maybe by then i'll have enough saved up to buy the cpe standback. also i will be modifying my fujita this winter to be short ram.

It basicaly consists of:

- determine the 5 wires in ECU harness to be cut and feed through the SB
- connect 10 wires from SB to the cut ends of those 5 wires
- determine another 5 wires in the ECU harness to be spliced on
- connect 5 wires from SB to these
- connect two wires to chasis ground

That's it - but it sounds easier than it is because of the location of the ECU. ;)

How long did it take you guys to install the ECU and if you went to get it done somewhere how much did they charge you?

It took me probably around 3 hours too.

And it was a PITA just because it's so cramped down there. Definetely remove the seat, my shoulder was killing me afterwards.
