installed my AWR motor mounts!!!!

I'm ordering my mounts in the next week. I'm excited to see how they'll help with the feel and hop.

FREAK! This is going to really add to my pile of uninstalled parts. Right now I'm looking at the new downpipe, kartboy bushings, Greddy turbo timer, and soon I'll be looking at the mounts and a clutchmasters clutch/fidanza flywheel.

I really have enjoyed mine they are great. I don't even feel the vibration anymore. For you guys that are doing this upgrade be ready for a change on the take off and going through the gears. The car will feel like it really wants to move, wait that might be my turbo.

Ooh and Stou it will not eliminate all of the wheel hopping but it does help.

Stou? hehee Who's Stou?

Yer talking to the one and only smp here buddy ;)

Yessir, I'm looking forward to the LSD, now that will get rid of this darn wheel hopping.

I'm getting mine in 2 weeks, I can't wait!

I'm only getting the front one, I hope it still make a difference...

god damn, that was a b**** to get the back on it. i got it with a help of my friend and about 3 hours. i'll post a picture of the two mounts next toghether when i download them.

I got the motor mounts put in in August or so. They're not AWR, btw, they're mazda motorsports.

Anyway, yeah, I just have the front one put in, but it does make my car rattle like an SOB. It's kind of annoying, but it defintely reduced hop.

Honestly, I really wish they made thema little SOFTER than it is, so it'd vibrate less. That way I'd put them both in, not just the front one.

Man, I can't believe you turbo guys were running stock motor mounts! Ugh. They're terrible in the rain especially.

Macklum, thanks for the hint about the back engine mount installation.

Mikemazda, that's exactly what I thought. I found one think about the wheel hopping, I think a big part of the wheel hopping come from our heavy Racing Hart wheels. I installed my winter wheels, which are 14" steel rim and are lot lighter than the Racing Hart wheels and that make a big difference on the hopping.

I'll install the front engine mount today.

I just had a thought ,for those of you that would like to save the money and can do without a car for a few days .
Remove stock motor mounts ,clean them well with a good degreaser ,then fill the holes in the mounts with silicone are urathane (the stuff they use on windsheild ) .you will have to build it up in layers . I think this will give up a stiffer than stock mount but nat as stiff as the AWR or Mazdaspeed mounts .

Tha's a good idea Macklum. I know that some shop do some "Insert" parts that can be add to an original mount. I saw that somewhere......

personally the vibration isnt bad to me. feels like mild classic muscle car (now if only i could have the same amount of power)

I installed the front one, very easy. It's hard to realy tell the difference right now because we had some snow here. The vibrations is not that bad. I can live with that, no problem.

I did some test spining the wheels in the snow and it look good. I'll see when I'll find some dry road!

I checked for the back engine mount, and this is definitely a couple of hours job with some help. I'll do it when I'll got time..... and a friend available for help.

Good luck on the back mount that one is a pain in the well you know I have been sayijng it to everyone that has attempted this install. Good luck Stou:D

Yea, I know what you mean.... I'm not in a hurry to change the back one. I'll probably wait to do it next summer. Anyway in winter with all the snow here, I probably will not see the difference.

Maybe if I get a LSD, I'll do the back engine mount when I'll install the LSD.
