Just got my plate in the mail today thanks Jamie! I'd install it now but I feel like dogs*** so it's gonna have to wait.

I know there have been a few reviews of this product but here's mine. I just finished installing the JBarone shift plate into my 08 Mazdaspeed3 and I am very happy with the results. I was worried at first because I have an aftermarket shift knob which is NOT weighted like the OEM knob.

That is a badass shiftknob! I need a new one too and was going to go AutoExe but I like the look of this too.
Thank you Jamie I'll post up when I install it. I looked through the instructions and it seems pretty straight foward. I've done everything to this car myself so I hope it's as easy as it seems.

Hey I installed this today and I have to say I like it! Easy straight foward install with great instructions. Very cool how you include the loctite and grease as well. I love how the shift is so much shorter! It's a bit stiff feeling but I suppose once I get used to it it'll be second nature. I saw someone mention being able to adjust it. I may look into that and see how it comes out. You had wanted some install pics I think? I can snap a few and email them to you or just put them up here.

I wanted a short shifter too but I decided to try this out. For the price you can't beat it.
Sometimes when a short shifter or Short Shift Plate is installed the alignment of the shifter changes a bit causing shifting to be a little harder to get in to gear. Primarily 1st and 2nd gear. This adjustment resolves that.

Blue JBarone Shifter Plate
Installed mine today. I think I still need a minor tweak in the center console shift mechanism, but other than that it works as advertised. More effort is required than before, but the shifts are more precise. I do wonder about long-term effects of the boot rubbing on the linkage, though.

I have 6300 hundred miles on my shift plate and I see no signs of wear on the boot. Apply some lube at each oil change and I'm very confident there will be no wear during the lifetime of the car.

Figured I would show you guys silver, Nice job man!!! Thanks Jamie, promp delivery I might add ....I like the 6th to 4th down shift and the 2nd to 3rd shift upshift. Hell all the shifts are KOOL (thumb) Didn't do any adjustment and it seems fine, kinda neat with the short throws, I feel like I am driving an exotic Wait let me wake up. I'm driving a MAZDA SPEED(smash)(wiggle)
