installed Hiboost kit, now stalling - please help

I just installed the Hiboost FMIC kit and Injen intake on my car, and i thought i had set it up right to run ok, but apparently not.

-Idle seems perfectly fine if sitting for some time, or just after startup.
-After giving gas or driving, the rpm's dip down extremely low, sometimes it saves itself, sometimes it just quietly dies.

I think the problem is with the HKS bov. Right now it's an open vent, but i am not sure where i am supposed to connect a hose to? The first tube coming off of the Injen has been cut down and is closed with a stopper. The second nipple is connected to the stock hose running into the side of the engine just in front of the intake mani (im a moron and can't think of the specific name at the moment). The bov has the stock vac line. Is all of this set up correctly? And if so, what do i route the bov to (assuming that corrects my issue)?

As always, thanks guys. GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE...(cool)

No you did ok, the engine breather is the hose that goes to the block. The BOV needs a recirculation fiting to be vented back into the intake where you capped it off (after the MAF) to prevent stalling. Yes you can use the vac line that went to the stock but a lot of peopole don't like it, they use the line from the brake booster instead.

so just run a 3/4'' (or whatever size it is) hose from the bov to the Intake then? makes sense.

yeah i ran vacume from the brake vacume line. but you need to recirculate or relocate your maf to fix your stalling.

No you don't need to recirculate. I and many others have been running open vent for years. NO STALLING ISSUES. The idle may dip low every so often but no stalling.

i don't think i can relocate my maf without some serious work since the kit is in. And i guess maybe nvmsp you were lucky? because mine has stalled out a few times now and i was going easy on her. I think i'll recirc. It's probably better for the car anyways.

And is there an advantage to tapping into the brake booster for vacuum? I'll probably just leave it as is, but why would you do that i am wondering?

ok but I mean do a search man, many people are running the SAME kit your running with open vent, my experience and most others have used both GReddy type S and RS open venting BOV's. Just so you know if you didn't already.

im running the hiboost kit with the dual setup, stock bpv/greddy rs bov. i have the bpv on the hot pipe and the bov on the cold pipe. many people ran the dual setup before relocating the maf. i would suggest running the dual setup over the relocation.

wouldn't recirculating be essentially the same thing? i have the HKS bov that came with the kit.

no , because im venting to atmosphere as well. when you recirc, you dont vent at all. im doing both to keep the ecu happy and to hear the bov.

ok now i have el mucho huge problemo. Everytime i go into boost, the IC piping pops off. Anyone have any remedies to this? It's like the kit doesn't fit together right... help!

tighten the hose clamps as much as possible. if you are having trouble with a particular coupler popping off, buy a couple T-bolt clamps at the hardware store (napa) and tighten the shitttt out of em.

ya man just do a search im running the dual setup with no stalling at all. u just have to adjust the bov.
