Installed a CP-e Towplate...

Overall took about 20 min.s, and the fit was great! I think the car will be alot cleaner once i pick up that replacement front bumper strip... All in good time though. Lemme know what you think... (dunno)

How much is the replacement strip going to cost? Also, you didn't take off the bumper to install, right?

I found it online for like $21.00 or thereabouts. Of course you have shipping to factor in, but I also bought the OEM iPod adapter at the same time so everything was total was like $210.00 and some change - shipped.

yea i just did it with the Allen bolt or w/e it was called, just put the nut on the bolt, insert, screw till tight. Voila!! Thanks for the replies!

Looks good. But maybe try and see how it looks with the plate parallel to the ground instead of the bumper line. Compare and see what you like better.

I have the RHO plate mount which is pretty much the same as the CPE. It does end up looking better with it paralell to the ground. Does the CPE not give you any adjustment positions?

As for the mustache piece, I just did that too. There are tabs and 3 screws. You will need to remove the bumper as the foam is right behind that piece and you cannot access the screws. It does look much better without the 2 screw holes. There are still dimples but they are not large.

Here is how mine is mounted with the RHO mount:

Nice. I have the RHO plate as well. I like that its adjustable. With cp-e your stuck with one position.

same here, whats the point of this exactly?

Not sure why this is called a tow plate, looks like a plate that mounts to the tow section of the bumper. I see a license plate mounted on the side of the car like a wannabe japanese car.

I always thoguth the REASON for mounting the plate on the side was if you had a front mounted intercooler and moving the plate allows all the air to go at the intercooler and not get any blockage from the plate.

I think the front end looks cleaner with it out of the way of the air dam, but to each his own. At least i don't have like, side skirts on the thing. (ugh)

liking my RHO set as well...whats the CPE look like when rotated to the right instead of left?

I think the front plate bracket that comes stock on the car looks hideous. It ruins the "point" the front bumper comes to. That is why I will be doing this...for now I'm risking it with the plate in my front window which cops can pull me over for (but haven't yet thankfully).

Agreed. Mine was actually loose. The screws going into the bumper wouldnt tighten and it was flapping.

Something to keep in mind with keeping your license plate on the dash. In a collision, that plate can turn into a guillotine. You've basically got a thin relatively sharp piece of metal, which is unsecured, sitting at or around upper chest height, with a ramp right to your neck.
