Injen! ( Now with pics! )

Finally got my CAI yesterday, and although the real dyno isn't that great, the butt dyno and psych dyno is awesome. Its definitly worth the money just for the sound. It seems like you going faster just because of that sound.

Now if only someone could make an exhaust like this, dead quiet until WOT. Its great.

I recommend this to anyone who's on the fence, the throttle response is definitly improved, and the engine bay is much less crowded.

:p

Mines blue with red joints. Although the car is black the red definitly looks good with the strut tower bar, and the blue isn't too obtrusive. I'm not out for shows, just for performance so it didn't matter much.

On a side note, I got this used with an AEM bypass valve ( uninstalled ) and there doesn't seem to be a spot to mount the valve? It can't be after the MAF, and the short section that goes to the filter doesn't have a straight part long enough to install it.

Did anyone else have this problem?

The loss is minimal, I've seen a dyno of that vavle before, and the throttle response is still there.

I now I have to cut, but there isn't a section long enough before the MAF to put the vavle?

hm, well according to Nuke you don't have to cut anything, just put it in place of one of the sleeves . . .

Its only a 3.3MP Olympus C3000 Zoom. But I've got alot of experience with Digital cameras under my belt, and its mostly about the right lighting to get the crisp photos you want. This camera also has a very good Macro mode ( lots of cameras have them, but not all work very well ) that allows you to get within 12 inches of the subject without zooming.

As an aside, I noticed my mileage has actually dropped a bit now that I've got a couple tanks though her. Do I need to reset the ECU perhaps now that this is installed? I havn't thrown a CEL, and the response is good, maybe its the sound when I floor it that is causing the new found gas mileage :)

Thoughts?

My mileage has gone down the shitter lately as well. We're talking really bad. 23 - 24 mpg combined. When I first put the AEM in, my mileage was about the same as ever, 27 - 28 mpg at just about every fillup. Now I look at my trip odo when I get to the gas station and sometimes I'm not even up to 300 miles for over 12 gallons!

I can only assume a combination of the following: Highway driving probably only accounts for about half of my miles, I'm constantly running with either all the windows and sunroof open or the A/C on, and I make a lot of short trips. My driving style hasn't changed particularly, I was always a bit heavy on the throttle.

That's the camera I use. It's fantastic!!! I have had mine about 3 years now.

Due to the fact that the injen only gives you about 2-3hp, the bypass valve will most likely negate the effects of the intake. On other cars, the Injen has much better gains and the valve doesn't negate it all.

The valve is really just a marketing ploy to take advantage of people's fear. If you stay out of flooded areas, you will be fine without it.
