Injen intake?

Decide how much its worth it to you to hassel with after market items on a car under warranty. If its worth $90 savings for you to remove it each time you bring it to the dealer then go that route but for me it wasnt worth the BS. Besides the synthetic dry flow filter is the best there is right now and it comes with the MS CAI and the injen is the old style oiled type.

Yup, i got the MS intake and feel it was worth the extra $90.00 to not have to deal with the dealership's crap for warranty issues

Im not takin $hit off when I go to my dealer (lick) . Theres nothing they can hassle you about, not like I deleted the MAF or had to hack away stuff to make it fit. I truely beleive that my dealer wont even notice it, which is sad. I still havent gotten it though, got some emails about its shipment, so Im waiting patiently. (friday)

My intake arrived today. I also ordered a dry flow filter from protege garage, but it's not here yet. I'll post pics and a review when i install it (friday, most likely).

Dosent it say in the manual if you use any other filter than an Injen brand filter it will void the warranty on the intake? I laughed at that but some may take it seriously....

Im pissed I still havent gotten mine.... Ill probably get it tomorrow because Im goin with my buddy to maryland to swap out his Rabbit front with a Gti and then go to a dubfest on sat... Basically meaning Ill get it when I cant put it on :(

So the Injen intake does not come with a dryflow filter?

Finally someone sees the light!

After you factor in the cost of what you are not getting on the Injen system compared to the MS CAI its not worth it by a long shot.

Noted! I just read about the Injen and the entire install instructions. I was actually trying to prove a point that in reality, your saving nothing.

Here's the deal, The Injen does not come with the Dryflow filter, the instructions require you to remove the OEM splash shield and it does not get reinstalled. So you get the intake, old school filter and installation hardware.

The Mazdaspeed3 CAI comes with the Dryflow filter, an aluminum filter shield/guard, hardware and cleaning/treatment products for the filter.

Hmmm, so $250 you can get the Injen, then add $40 - $50 for a Dryflow, ~$10 - $15 for the filter treatment kit and your at ~$310 not to mention no splash shield. That's the same price you can purchase the MS CAI for not to mention the piece of mind when you have your car serviced.

Just my thoughts and in no way fashion or form am I saying the Injen is a bad product, because I know there not. If it included a Dryflow filter it may be worth considering however, dollar for dollar your really not saving anything. Those who think the included filter will be fine may want to think twice. These new MAF sensors on cars today are EXTREMELY touchy and the slightest oil on them will trigger a CEL.

Got mine installed, with a dry flow.

It sounds AMAZING. My roomy with a stock Evo is jealous of the sound. It pulls really hard, i'm so happy with it!

How much did you pay for the Dryflow filter?

*edit* How much was your Injen intake and the seperate Dryflow filter?

dont all the intakes sound the same on the ms3? (ms cai, cpe cai, injen cai)

I bought the intake in the Group buy, for $199.. and the dry flow filter was $40.

I dont know if they all sound the same, ive never hear another Mazdaspeed with an intake. I assume they do, since theyre all about the same design. But it sounds great. Anyone thinking about blowing their money on a BOV needs to hear an MS3 with an intake first, you really get to hear the spooling/blow off noises.

Yeh I have a Hks and honestly since I put my intake in you can barely hear it, but it sounds twice as loud when I want it to, I got mine for $210 shipped and I couldnt be happier! (mj)

the hks is aloot louder recirc than the stock valve...sounds good and i dont feel i wasted money on a better product than plastic

Im running vta, so I shouldnt have an increase on sound since your not hearing it through the intake..
