Recently bought a Injen CAI for my 2015 Mazda 6 but I havent installed it yet because this mechanic was talking to me and told me that the filter on the end of it is too close to the ground and if i went in water as shallow as 2 inches that it could suck up water and ruin my engine, resulting in a $4,500 hit to my wallet. I do live in florida where the weather is a bit wet at times but it is almost never is at flooding level or where im driving through deep water.
My question is if anyone who has this part, 2014/2015, has had any trouble with this and if its worth the risk. This guy made it seem like this was going to be pretty common and ruin my engine. Advice?
