Ingalls Engine Torque Damper Feeler Thread

Im Down For Sure :D Anyone Know anything about the SU mount set for our cars... It says 62dur this sounds a little weak? Anyway the material in my stock passenger mount is cracked. Would the AWR inserts replace this, cause if so I will get the AWR front, back mounts and side inserts.

Has there been any progress on this. I fear that if this isn't started soon it will not happen until next year. There seems to be a fair bit of interest in getting a product up and running.

Given the recent success of the Adjustable Cam Gear group buy, maybe someone can champion this project.

is this a good alternative to the AWR MMs? I'm getting a CS downpipe, and I know they 'require' you to have the AWR MMs in case the dp fails...just wondering.

Torque dampers get rid of most engine movement while shifting and excelerating but not all. So I would get both if I were you. I have the torque damper SU front motor mount and the rest of my motor mounts I filled and it is great. So Yah, I would recommend you do something like that.

just a little update for anyone that is still interested...

"That project was started and then put on hold. We still have this
application listed as a "TO DO". We will not have the opportunity to get
back on it until we get closer to spring. At this time we do not have an
ETA on this project. I will forward this email on to R&D. I'm sure they
will keep it for the contact of an R&D vehicle.

Does anyone know if the Weapon R and/or Ingall's dampers are air/oil or air/air? I assume air/air due to the preload adjustment and seemingly no mention of any maintenance to contend with other than replacing an o-ring over time.

It seems that the damper is a standard issue across all of Ingall's ETDs (with the preload adjustment and length of the Heim joint being the differention across applications). Between the Weapon R and Ingalls' product, the relatively cheaper stamped/bent and welded brackets of the former contrast with the laser cut brackets of the latter.

Personally, I don't see why a Weapon R unit cannot be reverse engineered (using the - apparently - more robust Ingalls Stiffy cylinder damper); the measurements are already available. It's not necessarily groundbreaking, innovative technology here. Access to fabrication (for any brackets), the damper itself (ultimately a commodity item in air cylinder product lines), and any Heim joints should be all that's required.

Edit: Here's the damper sans brackets: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=iec-93130

Note the note: No mounting brackets included; fabrication will be required. Not for use on engines over 500 hp.
