Increased tire diameter impact on Vehicle Stability Control?

I am due for new tires on my 2010 5. I plan to replace the stock size tires (205/50/17) with 215/50/17 to hopefully give a smoother ride and more protection for the rims. I see other people here have done it without issue and Costco and Discount Tire has no problem selling me the larger tires. My dealer however freaked out and said their policy is to only replace tires with the OEM size because changing the size can adversely impact the vehicle stability control system and tire pressure sensors. I have changed tire sizes on my subaru without issue to the pressure sensors and to the dynamic control system, at least as far as I know. Changing to the 215/50/17 is only 0.4 inches larger. Does the dealer have a valid point, or is this just an overly cautious policy. The 2010 Mazda5 is the first year Mazda added stability and traction control BTW.

as long as all 4 tires are the same size and brand it will not cause an issue with DSC or TPS. Should decrease the accuracy of the speedo just a tad bit... (may be 1 mph off)

You can use the tire size calculator from 1010tires.com to see how diff sizes with affect actual speed.
