Inaugural Mazdateam Cycling Extravaganza

Advantages:

--Trendiness/Hipster initiation requires fixed gear
--Simplicity - never touch a derailleur
--Weight - no cassette, shifters or derailleurs

Disadvantages:
--Navigating inclines
--Everything else.

Gears are the way to go unless you're a hardcore mountain biker or a hipster with a chop-n-flop LeTour.

1. Fear - road/bmx
2. dexter - fixed road
3. StarvingRussian - Wheels
4. Anna-chan - road (smooooottth)
5. iracemine
6. familia323 - hybrid (but it acts like a little b**** on anything but smooth)
7. Ken - old blue schwinn

This is shaping up nicely. We could always do this on the OP/Palos paths, and then get bad at my place and do some grillin.

do people usually stick to the city streets during critical mass? i only ask this as there are really no planned routes per say.

1) damn you for swaying him away from fixed gear. i'll still beat you up a hill, mofo, i aint no hipster. (also, youre getting under my skin)

2) critical mass IS on the streets. starts at daley plaza and circles around for a couple times, then around the loop/near downtown area, and then starts to head off into surrounding neighborhood side streets. a may or june july are really awesome for just getting out and checking out the neighborhoods.

maps are passed around of the route at the start of the ride. its totally cool, i wish we can all go.
