In the market and need advice...

Thanks guys. At least I know what price range to shop. My local dealer here marks up way high I guess. While I was there I pulled up a search on my phone and I found others within 50 miles for $22-$23k on the 2009 sport or touring.

I do like the alcantra seats, HID's, rear LED tails. Im sure I will end up w/ a sport though. I mean, my intent was to get into a more reasonable car payment. Im gonna be patient and keep looking.

I don't wanna start the flame war over Sport VS GT but if you are financing the car the difference should come out to about 40 bucks a month over 4 years. If those features are important to you then don't end up regretting your decision.

Im not gonna say money is no object. I am on a strict budget but I still wanna have fun. My fico went to crap after loosing our house and so did a few other things. I just dont wanna pay more than $450 a month wether its a GT or Sport. I can live w/ either or so long as im in an MS3 when all is said and done.

Regret sucks but with the MS3 its pretty hard to regret since all the trim levels share the main things i.e. motor, suspension, LSD, etc...

They're all great little cars. I just don't think I could live without my automatic wipers.

remind the dealer that we are in a damn recession which is getting worse day by day and if he wants to sell a damn car, you need to walk out of the door with the sport as low as 22K maybe even 21k, and a GT as high as 24 or 25k

With TSC off the car is just spinning the tires through the gears and is not creating enough load to build boost in 1st and 2nd gear. With the system on it is closing the throttle in an attempt to stop the wheels from spinning, offering more resistance and therefore higher boost.

From what I remember reading a long time ago was that the car also limits timing in 1st and 2nd in addition to the lowered boost levels. Can the Dashhawk monitor timing values as well?

im not sure if if the DH monitors timing.

im just now starting to read on them and see if i should get one over gauges. and it offers alot more.

$40 a month over 4 years is a pretty big deal to me. I guess I'm just a cheap bastard.

I got the Sport because I got a better deal on the Sport. The dealer was willing to negotiate the Sport's price but held firm on the GT.

I wouldn't mind having the additional goodies the GT offers, but the performance capabilities of the car were what I was mostly after.

Again, it all comes down to what YOU want in a car. If you are coming from BMW's, I would think the GT trim should probably be your only consideration.

Do you guys think the prices I expect should still be the same considering that im in California?

Comming from BMW and Audi doesnt say much. Im kinda in a recession of myown if ya know what I mean. Im the only source of income and have a family for 4 plus the 3 dogs LOL. Time to make that adult sacrafice. Sometimes I wanna be a kid again.
