in case you were wondering about your cargo capacity...

I Like Turbo?
don't. one of my friends decided it'd be a great idea to put a 52" LG tv in his tiny apartment, but failed to notice that he drives a cavalier. he calls me up freaking out because he doesn't know anyone with a big car, and he doesn't know how he's going to get this thing home. i told him to give me the dimensions of the box, and measured out the MS3, and told him it was really close but we'd give it a shot. i show up, the sales associate at circuit city says "it's going in that car? i don't think so." so i open the trunk, fold the back seats down, and it slides in like a match made in heaven. even came about an inch of box height shy of being able to fully close the hatch. there was enough room left in the back to seat a full family of midgets.

i knew people were talking about big TV's in that 'what's the most impressive thing you've hauled in your MS3' thread a way back, but figured i'd let you guys know just in case you had an itch to buy an absurdly large TV.

America... **** yeah!

watched a football game there a couple weeks ago, came home with a neck cramp because i had to move my head to follow the ball. i'm sure i could have appreciated the excellence of it if i had been able to sit more than 3 feet away from it. it was like sitting in the first row of a movie theater.

I was just happy that I could load up my new winter wheels/tires in the hatch area with a babyseat in the backseat, stop and pickup a monstrous new PC and put that in the backseat, and still have room up front for a passenger.

And yes, the babyseat was empty.

That hatch cover gets in the way on these cargo runs though. I can't remember what car(s) I had with the retractable hatch cover (Supra? WRX wagon?) but it would be nice to have one of those in the 'speed.

i don't understand what you mean by the retractable hatch cover. do you mean the privacy cover attached to the hatch with 2 pieces of string that lets it hinge up with the door? if so you know you can take that completely out, right?

Yes, that's what I mean. And yes, I know it comes out. Aside fromt he fact that it's quite obvious, how do you think I got 4 tires in the back? (eyeballs) Anyway, my point was that some cars have a "privacy cover" that retracts like a roll up window shade. If you don't take the MS cover out of the car at home, you're stuck with it wherever you go. Start filling up the cargo space, and you'll see that the "hard" cover can take up a fair bit of space.

Now I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what car(s) had that. I think it was the Supra, but I don't remember...

my wrx wagon has one. retractable cargo cover thingy. it's great. covers up shiat so that i can park and not have my junk out for some thief to steal. if i've got something big to put back there, you just retract it, pop it out and store it off to the side. not like my old p5's hard cover which you had to take out completely or would eat up some space if it's off to the side.

here is a 47" that fit in mine with the hatch closed. It also looks good in my house ;)

We just got the 42 inch version of what I believe is the same Vizio. I picked our up with our 5, but it's nice to know it would fit in my MS3 ( iahve the SIlver as well.

It's a nice display for the money. What do you think of it?
