Impor Tuner Article on Hyper Ground-wires

Yeah tell me that this doesn't sound like bulls***, but I just read the latest December issue of Import Tuner and they dyno tested a Suzuki Aerio, Twin turbo FD RX7, newer Maxima and S2000 with these "Hyper Ground Wires" from XS Engineering.

The Aerio netted a peak gain of about 3.6 hp at the wheels, and averaged a 1.5 hp gain THROUGHOUT the power band.

THe RX7 netted a 13-15 ( can't remember the exact number) peak gain and averaged a 7 whp gain throught the power band

The Maxima netted like a 8-10 whp gain and averaged 6whp throught the band.

The S2000 got crappier results...it peaked at like a 2.5 hp gain and averaged about a 1whp gain throughout the band

Anyways, I read how they work, appparently they are much more effiecient ground wires made out of like 99.99% copper, and are even better than speaker wire you can buy. IT comes in kits for 4, 6 and 8 cylinder cars for 99 dollars, 104 and 144 dollars resepctively.

Pretty hard to believe, but It makes sense. Less resistance through the electrical system = less engine work freed up which = more power and effeicency.

If it could give a MP3 or P5 a 4whp gain, it sounds like a much better deal than an AEM or Injen intake to me ;)

Whaddya think? bulls***? or feasible?

worth a shot. dont think it could harm anything. do you have a website to look at. might help the F/I or high N/A guys better then stock guys.

Dude, your Festiva is so cool. What was the link to the site that showed the build up. I would like to see some full size pics of it. It really looks like it is taking shape very nicely.

i have been researching these hyper ground wires for a while now and i think i will buy them soon. at first i was skeptical but if you notice almost every JDM tuner is coming out with their version and they are begining to show up on alot of magazine cars. there must be something too it and for just over $100, can't hurt to try.

i'm going to wait until some other companies start selling ground kits. Then again, i'll have to be careful....if ractive or apc makes some, you never know how crappy they will be.

zoomzoom: thx for the props on my festiva...all i get is flames about owning it ;)

Flames for owning the Festiva?! That's too bad... it's a really good-looking ride. Reminds me a bit of the Peugot's and Citroen's I loved from England.

shk shk waaaaaahhhh

Well I bought the import tuner magazine just for the article an to make sure I remember where to purchase them. I decided I am going to buy them. Probally next month.

do you have a website to look at:

i'm going to wait until some other companies start selling ground kits:
Quote from Import tuner

SunAuto exclusively owns the international patent for the daisy chain type of grounding systems. Other ground systems must either make a circle (i.e start at on point and return to the original point) or use big ugly distribution block and then distribute the ground wires throughout the whole system.

When this post was started I was interested since this was a thought I used to have that I wondered if power was lost to ignition systems and ect from wiring. Protege and protege5 is listed for S-Type system on their website.

I wanna see numbers on this. If they are good I'm in. Hell I'll shell outthe money for the grounds if someone will pay for the dyno

I found this system also from Arospeed. It sets up a central ground point, then goes to the battery with a separate cable. The ends are painted and I'm thinking that's a bad Idea since most paint I know of does not conduct well. Anyways I always look for options. Here's perhaps the first knock off.

I e-mailed them my order yesterday and I still have not yet been contacted. As soon as I get them and install them I will post a result thread. If it works well then maybe we can talk to company about a group buy since it is a reasonibly priced mod.:D

I ordered them today. The sales person on the phone said that there was a difference between colors and silver/gold. I was interested to know and he offered the info. He said "The density of the exterior coating on the wire is better on the silver/gold and the wire is better quality." So I went with the silver, I figured if I am going to do it I might as well have the best. Well I will post again when installed.

Would anybody be interested in a group buy regarding this? I am a arospeed dealer. I know there stuff is a little ricey but hell there just wires.

Dyno in ALASKA your a funny guy there Dino(lol)

There is not a Dyno within 2500 miles of where I live!
But perhaps I could work it out once I get to Vegas in two months!

I would be highly interested in something like this. Any ideas on how the Aerospeed compares to the Hyper-Ground System?

I have no idea, I will try to research unless somebody already knows? We put a set on the WRX and gains were very noticable, however this was from our highly tuned but dynos, so you know how accurate that is:rolleyes:
If you guys are real interested, lets say like 10 people we could get a heavy discount. The ground kit from arospeed is actually purty nice lookin. Dont know if one brand is different from the other though.

spoolin, i would be interested. can you get us a price figure on how much it would be. also the colors that are avaible. Not sure if you want me spending my money thought. Thats means its going to take a little longer to get your stage 4 kit :)

All right, so I have been doing a little bit of research and I found this: This is a link to an Altavista translated page from the SplitFire Japan website:

http://babelfish.altavista.com/babe...44.182.164/sfj/GW_setumei.cfm&lp=ja_en&tt=url

It has some information about their ground wire system, an Ebay dealer quoted me $250 for the ones for our cars, more then I am willing to pay, but thing I noticed is this system is using the distribution block type system that is similar to the Aerospeed. As far as finding performance charts on anything, haven't seen it. I guess I'll have to go pick up the Import Tuner article.

The Japanese SplitFire page: http://218.44.182.164/splitfire/top_home.cfm

Any idea on the price for a group buy on the Aerospeed?
