Impor Tuner Article on Hyper Ground-wires

Pic of install yes, Experimentation is difficult I am in transit to Florida as we speak. So I will have some more to post on this a little later. I need to work with them though. After original install I moved a ground to the ignition coil. That actually made a difference. I also have a battery dieing right now, you picked a bad time to ask this question. I will get back to you on this. Sorry if I am rambling I sleepy. :)

he he, no worries man :) Hope your ride is treating you well on that drive to Florida. I don't have anywhere to move, but I think I may take an extended road trip next summer for vacation if I can save up the funds and the vacation days do it, having this car just makes me want to drive :D.

Look forward to hearing your full final report after you get a chance to mess around with them. I will probably be getting a set of these myself after the holidays as fundage allows.

Last night I went out and used a multimeter on my battery and it was only reaching 10 volts with car running. That is why my lights were dimming so bad and car audio sounded like crap. Well I went out and bought a Optima battery and now my car is running completely different. So this system might actually work better than I thought. My car audio no longer causes my lights to even shudder even with the radio volume set at twenty(really loud on my Alpine). I am impressed but I now can't tell whether it is the Optima battery making the difference or whether it is the ground system. Wow now I am back at square one. This just has not been my month. More to come on this.

Please no one spend money on this.
It is a gimmic through and through.
You will see more companies come out with their own kits not because it is so good but because people are spending money on it and a business is a business.
People will sell you anything that puts more coin in their pocket.
Please people.

I've already gone through this, its no use. However someone mentioned it was all 4 guage which is a nice upgrade for audio systems. As for perfomance I doubt of any gains.

Audio performance is all I noticed. As soon as I put that new battery in my car last night. Everything was fine and lights no longer dim with my music. That is good enough for me.

2001redmicadave would you be able to post, e-mail, or fax instructions. I was thinking about just trying to use stereo wire. Since you say it isnt worth buying it.

well i got the wires and put them on this weekend. just like 2001redmicadave i didn't notice ANY seat of the pants power gains. but my car club is going to the dyno next month and ill test it out then. but the big think i noticed and didnt expect is my car doesnt vibrate as much. I have both front and back motor mounts in and atleast 75% of the vibration they added is gone now. thats a plus. if you have motor mounts maybe this is something to look into if the vibration is to much for you.

Sorry Twiz for this reply taking so long. I have been in transit from Alaska to Florida for a couple of weeks and needed a small break after. As for making it out of speaker wire. This is probally a pretty easy one for any body with a set of wire crimppers, some ring clips, and about 7 feet of 4 gauge wire. The concept is simple, you daisy chain the grounds from one side of your engine bay to the other side. Using the first ground as your chassis( right side of car), second to your throttle body, next down to your engine block, split the next wire to your tranny and then next to your battery and daisy chain another wire off battery to another chassis ground of your choice on left side of car. If this is to confusing, I will make a faq when I tear apart my car to install my coilovers and various other suspension mods this coming week. I plan on taking tons of pictures. Have a Merry Christmas all!

Edit:

I also have noticed that my engine runs smother and idles about 250 rpm's lower. Interesting side affect but its a good one. Please note you will not notice any difference if your car battery is going dead. I had this happen.

Hey Thanks, That is simple only question left side is driver side or passenger side. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas as well.

Good catch Twiz, I was thinking about it from the perspective of standing in front of the car looking down at the engine. So in other words you would start with the passengers side and end with the drivers side by the battery. Will have pics of this latter on. I also edited my original text to match. :D

Holy christ, dave...I just read that those coilovers are like 1800 bucks!!!! Thats an expensive ass suspension..I hope they are worth it.....

Yeah, expensive and I got a better deal than 1800 believe me. I think they will most certainly be worth it in AutoX. Can't wait to get to my car finished. Due to a delay in shipping they will not be here until after 1 January so my install plans for this weekend will be postponed until next Friday. Hopefully everything turns out how I plan. If you need a deal on coilovers I will be representing AutoRND just PM me if your are interested. They sell the full line of JIC Magic not just the 2AFLT which are the best and most expensive. I can get you further info on what is available for your application.

hey,

for those of you who have installed the sun hyper ground wires, do you have any pics of the install?

are any of the stock wires replaced with the sun kit or are all the wires additions? from my best guesses it would be best to replace the factory wires and add new ones as well.

also, how's the testing going????

further to the above, i have done a bit of running around online and found the company that sun gets their wires from. it's sun in japan - see http://www.sun-auto.co.jp

if you can understand japanese (or can find a place that can convert it into engrish for you - i pick this option) you'll find that the gold and silver wires are 4 layers thick. the other colors (blue, red, yellow and smoke) are 3 layers thick. so i assume off that the gold or silver is the way to go. just for interest's sake, they are asking 18800YEN for the P5 wires....close enough to $155USD....so you guys are definately getting it good there in America at $118.50USD.

Please stop wasting your money on these things.
People have been extracting horsepower from engines for decades. There are cars with 500 hp that are using stock ignition.
You will get zero power increase by using these "APC" tuner devices.

No real performance gain but my idle is far more stable and with a good battery my lights dim alot less with my music. here is a picture of my engine. The Sun system is a addition to what is already installed for lack of better words it is a piggyback system.
