I buy a set of IMOLA GPOWER TYPE R for my MAZDASPEED, the wheels are
18" X 8" , 37 off set, the cuestion is?

225/40/18 tire size?
235/40/18
or 225/40/18

I dont want eny problems whith rubbing or similiar.
Somebody has mounted 235/40/18 tires with 8x18, 37 offset or approximate and have problems?

I give that opinion?

I feel my writing but I am Spanish and I do not speak English very well, a greeting to all.

This is the wheel:

i think 235/40 would be the best size, 225/40 would give the stretched look and u wouldnt have much tire which is bad on city roads

looks sick?
Why?

235/40/18 if dont have problems rubbing I can serve.

I normally use my car on a road of curves, I live in southern Spain in a coastal area near Gibraltar and that this crowded highway curves.

that may be too low of an offset, especially for 8" wide rims.... since you already purchased them, you may wanna go for the 225/40/18 even though they'll be stretched, that may be the only way they'll fit. typically the lowest offset can be about 42.

also they look almost identical to the Tenzo-R DC5...and the dc5's come in the correct offset...

Tire Rack recently had Kosei K1 TS in 17x7 with a +36mm offset on sale for $150 each- a steal of a price, and only 14 lbs each. After reading a good bit here & on a few other sites, I decided it was not worth the risk of trying to fit a +36 offset on this car. (The K1 TS also comes in a 42 & I think a 50, but those offsets were not on sale)

I would think that 18x8 with +37 would be a very tight fit, and likely have some rubbing issues, or come very close to it.

Those are slick looking wheels, though. Very nice.

not to thread jack but this guy was talking about offset and fittings.
I have been wonderingon offsets also. People say stay close to 50mm offset like how close to stock. But WHAT would be the difference/benefit/negative of going with say a 42mm or a 40mm? I al looking for something that sits close to/flush with the outsuide of the fender so its not so tucked inward. Which would give that pushed outward to the fender more? as in what mm offset would do that. Seems there are plenty of offsets that can be bought on some rims, so i want to choose the right one. Hope someone can answer!

18x8 40 or 42 offset are very clost to be even with fenders.....38mm stick out a little

NICE so the lower the mm # then the more it sticks out. Thats good to hear, so I am not sure why people would say to get 50mm or 52 mm if it will stay tucked, then it would look nasty like stock thats tucked in the fender. regardless of what rim I buy now, i will remember to try and get a 40 or 42mm if possible, thanks wisnia. on a side note, wisnia, sell me your su mm!

You just have to watch with the low offset and lowering springs you'll be rubbing the fenders...for sure with springs and passengers in the back.
