For those of you who are worried about not being good enough don't worry. That is why it is an amateur show. We just want to get people out there and have fun. Also you don't have to "show" but be there to check out the cars who compete and also have a fun cruise up to oceanside. There's nothing better than mobbing with a group of cars, whether your fast, slow, show, or a beater it's about being around people who like the same things . . . cars. There is no fee at all but there are minimal requirements to "compete" and ofcourse no fee to cruise.
The minimal requirements off the top of my head are some kind of audio. Basic deck, amp, and sub. Some type of rims, you can bring the spinners out if you wish, spintek or hubcap ones (j/p). Suspension, some type of spring or shocks/struts. I guess if you have cut springs you can call them "custom". Some type of performance, like intake, exhaust, or cams.
You can have body kits and custom paint but anything like gull wing doors, motorized spilt hood, head light conversion, or tail light conversion will not be allowed to enter.
There has been little changes in plans but nothing major.
Meet up time will be promptly 11am. We will accept cars until 12 noon. Be prepared because we will be judging pretty quickly. This is because roll out time will be around 12:20 maybe 12:40 if there are a lot of people.
We had planned to get everyone there then cruise up to OC. That isn't going to work because they are having a parade/cruise/festival or something on the street where our meeting spot is. So parking is going to be tight and we won't be able to have all the competitors in one spot. So it is better to judge first then have the cruise.
So if you get there, lets say 11:45, you won't have much time to setup or do the final wipe down of your car. So being done ahead of time will help you with points. You don't have to spit shine the undercarriage but keep in mind everything counts. If you want to be in the cruise I would also suggest getting there kinda early so you can also check out the rides.
Once we get everyone in, parked, and judged we should have a mini meeting with everyone there.
Now the fun part comes, we will all have directions to give to everyone and we roll out. Staying together might be hard with the few traffic lights we will encounter but staying inline/order and not speeding, showing off, or passing won't be permitted. We don't want to attract any unwanted attention and give all of us car enthusiasts a bad name.
Once we get to OC, you can mingle, check out the phat rides, or get something to eat @ the cafe we are going to be @. Then we cruise back down to UTC. It doesn't have to be together this time and you don't even have to head up if you don't want to but it is fun. We just need everyone who participated in the show to be back @ UTC after the cruise around 3-3:30. I'm not exactly sure on the time but it will be discussed @ the mini meet b4 roll out. If you didn't compete you can still roll back because this is when we will hand out the trophies for the categories we have.
So I want everyone to come and have a good time. Peace.
