You guys shouldnt be worrying abotu teh engine. Its fine, and wuite strong. People have gone up to 12 psi without any problems, and a dozen ppl are running NO2, If you hear of one out of 1500 that breaks, dont get upset, especially when the NOS install wasnt done propperly. So stick with it, its a great platform and can be turned into an monster. just my $.02

The engines may hold but the tranny sucks dick! Mine, and 2 more have had the exact same thing, tranny lock up and stay stuck in 4th. The other 2 were 2001 Protege's, not MP3, but same tranny.

In stock form, it is just not a good idea to run anywhere above 10psi. And probably a better idea to run a bit less. We've already had one guy blow up his engine with Nitrous here so that may not be a good idea either. At least not a 75 shot like someone in another post mentioned! Stock internals are built to stock specification and are engineered to withstand the kinds of pressures endured in a stock engine. Anything else is just flirting with disaster. Mazda techs know when an engine has been destroyed by FI or Nitrous, they aren't complete dummies! Make sure you save up about double so that you can pay out of pocket to have your engine fixed when something goes wrong, because you might as well be using your warranty as toilet paper at that point.
