If you had more money what would you buy?

I fell in love with the MS3 a while back based on the reviews. I did a couple of test drives last week and although it is everything I expected, I am not quite there yet. May be because I never had a performance car before.

The two main issues are noise and room in the back seat. I drive daily in stop and go traffic and found the noise from the MS3 beyond my comfort level (I know many of you enjoy the sound). I searched the forum for ideas on reducing the noise, but did not find much in solid information. I have children and prefer more room in the back seat.

So, I was wondering if there something with less noise, more room, for a few $k more that I should consider. It has to have similar power to the MS3 with a nice manual transmission and all the other goodies the MS3 has.

All suggestions are welcome, especially from those who had owned/driven a variety of performance sedans

define a few more $? used or new?

I'm 6'1" and fit in the backseat, granted for a 1/2 hr to hr drive its not bad, 4 hrs would be a different story.

from the sounds of it you need something more refined, a legacy GT comes to mind, as an STi or evo will be loud according to your standards.

hmmm maybe a Volkswagen CC. I think if you want a bigger car than the MS3 while retaining performance, you'll be spending another $10K though.

If you only want to spend a few $K more while retaining the need for speed, I don't think the noise or room issue will be solved.

interested to read what others suggest though

i had more money when i bought the speed 3 and honestly only other car i was considering was a gt-r 32 i found for like 28k. but the speed 3 just made so much sence and to this day it still is making sence. i love the car, i get a chubby everytime i clean it and it looks so fresh and clean. it moves awesomely and cant beat it for transporting. i fit the wife, my 7 month old and a front se-r bumper and seperate lip all without having to move my seat up (i am 6'1"). so for me to want a different car buddy, i would of had to live a different life:) cheers

Used bmw? Is that blasphemy? I smell an older M3, but don't know if its bigger or quieter..

MS3 too noisy?? I think you should be looking at BUICKS!! Or a Prius. Or an Electric Wheelchair. Or a, sorry I cant find my medication!!

legacy GT looks boring, I never really liked Subaru's styling. The CC looks promising, minus the two-passenger rear seat. I will probably go take a look. As for BMW, it always seems that I get less for the money, even with used ones than most other brands (I prefer a new car vs. a used BMW with similar specs).

In the 30K range I'd consider the Nissan Maxima or G8. Both are great cars for different reasons. If the accord sedan didn't require an auto, I'd consider that as well.

Used, I'd consider a 3 series.

You can get a couple year used Audi A3 for around $25K or less, sporty, great looking, entry-level luxury. I always dug the clean lines of newer Audis. Although you gotta dig deeper into the pocket when it comes to fixing anything.

tvr sagaris.....see i can be stupid too

playing hardball to get the price lower?

but back on topic, if you do like the G8, and most cars mags do, you should be able to negotiate. no time like the present to get a deal...

screw em. screw em hard. no lube. (laugh)

Evo IX and suits up for Rally mania!
for pure pleasure i would get a McLauren.

assume "more money" is 1 million dollar?
