If You Boosted A N/A Protege, READ THIS

Just wanted to correct this at least in relation to every other check valve I've ever seen and a universal one which is what I have been using.

The larger barb goes to the IM to allow vac and the smaller goes to the purge valve.

Absolutely not. In fact it would be pretty hard to install it the wrong way since the small barb goes to the nipple on the IM just behind the TB, while the larger bard goes to the purge solenoid. You wouldn't exactly be able to use the larger diameter hose on the side going the the IM, or vise versa.

i believe you want air flow into the IM and the valve preventing air release, which prevents boost loss and pressurizing a system that doesn't need it.

forget the direction of the barbs and blow through the valve, one way should let air through, the other should not. place it in the line so the air can be let through into the IM, but not released.

im now suffering from the issue... what a load of s***...... i couldnt believe it took me LITTERALLY 20 minutes to fil up.... grrrr... I need to install that one way valve still.. or buy a new one cause i cant find it...

You had probs after you installed the pcv as a check valve?

The issue is boost builds up in the gas tank filling it with air and that makes it difficult to pump gas? And thats what this check valve cures?

check with your local mazda dealer. Something like this won't be posted online.
