If You Boosted A N/A Protege, READ THIS

I completely forgot about this. Could this be the reason my engine seems to be cutting fuel when I get anything like positive boost?

I will order these tomorrow.

considering the cost of things at the dealership, I am only going to buy the valve, but look at aftermarket means of clamping.

just counted (8) 99283-0800 clamps, (1) 99283-0900 clamp, correct?

and are we supposed to order the two clamps highlighted in red? 0000-88-C68,69
Any answer to these questions?

any reason we have to go with those clamps over widely available and much cheaper clamps?

i'm so damn confused, what all do i need now? ?
linux, did you order all the clamps or just the one way valve?

part numbers ?
sorry im just... confused :(

If you want your system to be closer to perfect, get a check valve (more efficient, not wasting boost pressure into your gas tank instead of your engine). If you want to make sure your hoses aren't going to get blown off by boost, get clamps (reliability).

I need some advice i just bought a 2002 mazda protege dx, and i want to use some form of forced induction, but i am not sure what to use. The problem i have is wether i should buy the hiboost turbo kit or if it would be better for me to buy the Mental Addiction Motorsports Street Sleeper Turbo Kit. I need something that i would be able to install quickly and without much hassel.

best advice is for you to do a LOT of research here on the forums. There is plenty of information here for you to get your answer. The first thing to keep in mind is your engine is a 1.6, and I don't know if MAM's kit is compatible.

If you are looking for someone to tell you what path to take with your upgrade, that's the wrong approach. You need to get all the information and make an informed decision about what you want and what to expect. We'll be happy to help out with specifics, though!

got my check valve installed. That thick end is a pain in the butt.
