I want to use a iPOD with my stock stereo system in the P5? Will it work or not?

I would look at the Alpine CDA-9847 for a replacement deck.

Nothing lesser is worth chaning out a radio in my opinion.

Also the factory deck is far from teh suck

Good call on the 9847. This is what I am using along with an alpine Ai NET car interface specifically for using an iPod. It gives me full control of my iPod by using the head unit. Makes a lot more sense than buying the mp3 changer(which I did). The head unit was around $200, and the modulator was about $100.
