if you want it somewhat quiet, stay away from the corksport. greddy sp2 is a nice exhaust, vibrant... um... honestly, my recommendation would be to go to a shop and have them fab one for you. Personally I'm a fan of magnaflow.

as for the new owner, not a friend, but I'll prb end up assisting him in the install. hell, when he smokes it I may offer to buy it from him. lol

thats seems to be the best thing to do, just get it custom. does that cost a lot more than buying the full one?? i do like greddy, and i have heard good things about magnaflow. well it looks like it might be all fab work then.

hey you should let me know how the turbo set up goes, and let me know what happends in the end.....

custom fabbed will likely actually be cheaper. its just the quality that may be questionable depending on where you get it done... so choose wisely, and specify what you want.

I don't mean to offend, but 5 mins talking to you about told me that unless you spend a month strait doing research (literally)... you're gonna blow it up. You've already got 90K on your car... (I've got 85K and mine is still running like a top, so that's not the be all and end all), you've picked up a kit that is MORE than capable of overboosting your car to the point where you are in danger of bodily harm from flying chunks of rod/block, and you are severely under educated on a topic you have sunk a fair amount of money into already... and in order to build a reliable setup.. you're going to have to sink in at least as much more as you already have.

[/off soapbox]

P.S. ...And something about a boosting vegetarian just feels WRONG. LOL

ya he is right, i was going to just jump and buy a kit, but i thought that i might need more info on what the hell im doing. i have been reading for about a month and talking to many people, i would like my turbo now but i rather know whats going on before is destroy my car. (cryhard)

yeah, trial by fire is not exactly a feasible learning curve in this case... lol gets very expensive, and the walk/bus ride to work is a bitter reminder of the massive "woops!"... lol

I walk to work as it is so a DD isn't an issue but blowing up my engine obviously isn't ideal (which is what you were getting at).

boostd's setup is pretuned so that is a major step away from external internals. I don't plan on putting the kit in for another 3 weeks, and have been researching diligently every day (which i how i stumbled onto this thread).

It's a little more involved than hooking up the pipes :D , but I think for the 3 grand I'll be putting into her, my P5 will pay out dividends!

Plus you said you wanted to help so i'll make sure that you are aware of the turbo install day.

just because the tune worked for him doesn't mean it will for you, not right outa the box. different altitude is enough to throw it off at least some.

cars never pay dividends. they are not an investment, they are a money pit. edit: classic cars excluded... and trust me, a P5 is never going to be a classic. LOL

I think I've already helped enough.... you'd have a hole in your block by now if it wasn't for me! LOL

wrong type of payout. You invest in a car like you invest in a girlfriend. You spend money on them, they make you mad, sometimes you don't treat them right and they blow up, but most of the time they are pretty fun.

basically i'm giving my car a boob job (same price!)

lol. and thanks for the slap in the face too. I was chillin' in the boost could thinking "oh man, slap this sucker on and BOOM 100 extra horses" when in reality without the motivation to do the bonus research it would have gone "oh man, slap this sucker on and BOOM...fsk"
