i want to get a sound system for my 03' protege but im not sure what i should get....i dont want it to rattle my trunk....any ideas please let me know.

Just get two JL audio 8" w2 or w6 and a good amp to push them. Get a set of quality mids and highs along with the same brand corresponding 6X9s for the rear and there's a solid system that sounds good inside the car and doesn't really bother those outside.

I have a 12' Q-logic bandpass box (18x18x18 inches) with a rockford punch sub in it. sub it in good condition and can take up to 100 RMS watts. puts out some good, deep bass without rattle in the trunk. Just will need an amp that can put put 50-100 RMS watts into a 4 ohm load. $100.00 shipped anywhere in the cont. US. Box alone will run between $80-90.

dyno mat the trunk, drop in two(2) kicker 10' subs and a kicker 600 amp and a 1' kicker tweeter in each door and two (2) kicker 6X9 in the rear deck.... cost under $1000.00 and sounds bad ass. the 3 holds sound very well, and with that equipment you can get in trouble if you have a noise ordinance in your town. also put some double stick 3m tape behind your license plate and it will not rattle. i've got that same set up, but i got the 12' subs, and 800 watt amp. in my msp ........

JBL 600 watt amp.....2-10" Alpine Type R's.......Boston Acoustic components in the front and 6 1/2 in the package tray. I know 6x9's will fit there, but as a rule round speakers sound better. I have this set-up and with a radio with a non-fading input you can have it all off or beating like a drum.
