I think I blew my turbo

I have an 08 mazdaspeed3. Im running Injen intake, FMIC, Full exhaust, 19psi. no tune.I just installed the front mount, i was lacking Tbolt clamps so i was stuck with basic clamps. I was initialy building up the boost and finally got to full throttle with no problem what so ever, strong pulls consistantly. Then i blew a pipe off the intercooler piping. after i put it back together i searched and made sure there where no other problems. I start driving and building boost but the car dies at like 4psi. The car just dies, I got no smoke out the back, no check engine light. the car only has 8000miles on it. help! whats wrong?

Take off all your mods, bring it in to Mazda and have them repair under warranty. Upping the boost on this car is a major risk, I wouldn't advise.

that not your turbo, and thoguh 19psi is too high its not a big deal to up your boost. Just keep it around 17-18 max unless you have meth. If you blew your turbo it would prob be making loud noises..

I think your right. for some reason, at 17psi the car feels like it has more pickup.

same thing happened to me, with similar mods. well, i didnt blow any of the intercooler piping. the way that the stock bpv bolted onto the front mount flange wasnt sealing it very well, so i got a forge and the problem was solved

check the turbo for shaft-play and look at the compressor wheel and see if the fins are bent...thats the first thing i would do if i thought my turbo was shot..

You have no idea who i am brealmp3 so why would you say something so hate full? grow up man. the car hit 19psi in 6th gear all other gears are no more than 16.5 to 17.5psi. plus i have a wide band just in case. Dont worry though smart guy carma is a bi***

I also don't think 19 psi would cause a problem assuming this was indeed the Max. boost you hit...I would go over once again every boost tube/boost-seeing line and reconfirm there is not a leak...make yourself a boost tester with PVC pipe/cap and a tire valve and pressurize her to 20psi and see if you have a leak...could be in that new FMIC where it isn't evident.

Thanks fasteract. as soon as i get out of wok im just going to redo the entire thing because i still need to position the intercooler correctly anyway cause its off center a bit. even though im still running a little rich im going to lower the boost cause it is a scary thought to run almost 20psi on a stock system

I got the black 08, i told you i was getting the front mount put on last week. i could be wrong though because i dont remember you having different wheels.
