Anyone try one yet? I haven't but someone in my building bought a BRZ and it got me goin' again. Looks like a fun car.

There's a few kids in my area that have em. Haven't seen much besides them being lowered with diff rims though. Personally I think the BRZ is where its at though!

I have. About a month before they were officially released in the US, Yokohama held a promotional event for Toyota employees and Scion owners, I attended the one in Baltimore. It was essentially a tight autocross course and we were allowed to take the FR-S and really put it to the test. Sadly the models were all automatics and the traction control had to stay on, but considering I got to do this incredibly fun, exclusive event for free, I couldn't argue. It honestly won me over, I really liked it, so much so that I debated selling my bike so that I could afford the payment on it but I stuck with the bike and my 2.

(excuse the terrible photo, it's just a quick cell phone pic I took right before I got in.)

YEAH!

I know about 4 or 5 people who own one, and they all love it. I considered getting one instead of my 2, but I figured the 2 was a little more financially responsible. ;)

I might still get one though. Provided that I'm not married and/or have kids by the time I'm done graduate school, I wouldn't mind trading in my 2 and buying a BRZ with my savings.

Nice pic Rob -- wish I could have done that event, but I'd be more than broke right now. They look WAY nicer on those wheels than the stockers too.

I think in the 3rd year they should have all the bugs worked out and I'll just about have my 2 paid off, so I should trade it. Seems like with women and cars all my common sense goes out the window... lol.

I'd rather walk than drive a Toyota.

True. Still a Toyota though. I know it's silly but I really despise their vehicles, too boring(shrug)

What's Toyota about it? It has a Subaru power plant?

It was developed jointly with Toyota, thats enough for me to classify it as a Toyota. Regardless, I think that for the money there are so many other sports cars that offer much more power and probably handle just as well. I will say that it looks darn good though.

I've driven one a few times, and that car is done right. There's no two ways about it. I didn't think a car that all around good (from a coupe standpoint) would come to market again at such a reasonable price. You have to be able to live with a 2 door coupe, and all that implies, and be fine with having useless back seats. And in my opinion, you have to live with the nasty looking taillight situation, but damn that car is fun!

Id be driving a brz instead of my 2 right now if I didn't have kids. Then again a used Cayman S or Elise would be nice. Awesome cars nonetheless. Lets hope they sell well so this segment can grow. Plus I read a supercharger kit will be available soon for the frs.

camaro's are for the mullet.

The new mustang v6 with the suspension upgrade package handily beats the brz\frs on the track...Check youtube they just released the track review of both cars...I think it was 1.5 to 2 seconds faster on willow springs...but...they still said the frs\brz was still the ultimate drivers car for how it feels...just doesnt have the balls to keep up.

(in late 2013 im getting either a ms3 or 2011+ 6 banger stang)

^^^^ HAHA ^^^^

It crosses my mind sometimes, but pretty much flies right out again...

The reason I want one so bad is because I keep hearing how awesome of a driving machine it is, regardless of power. Kind of like the 2.

I wonder though -- it has 100 more ponies, but weighs about 550lbs more, how does that translate in torque/power/speed feeling compared to the two? Probably not very much more muscle-y I would imagine? I would love to test drive, but right now not many available... especially that I can run up to redline in!
