Dude, if the dog was on a leash why would you antagonize him?

Sounds like something someone with a mullet would say.

I have no doubt that the guy is a peice of s*** but be subltle and stealth. It's a lot more fun.

that was the first time in 2 years that I've seen the dog on a leash...
something must be working, the last thing he wants is a bloody dog in the pound.

If you didnt care, you wouldnt be looking for a way to take the higher road here. I think for now, you have the moral high ground. Use that to your advantage.

Record as best you can a history of behavior. Police records, pics, witness affidavits. Talk to the owner of the house you live in and let them know your having trouble with a neighbor. Find out if the guy with the dog is a renter as well. That would definitely be a soft underbelly. If you want to do this legally then gather evidence.

What is your objective here? Keep the dog out of your yard, easy, use the water gun, or a low power BB gun. You can have a lawyer send him a letter stating that he needs to be a responsible pet owner (cost money probably). You can call the humane society or animal control on him too. You have lots of options, including going to the local pet store and getting advice about trouble dogs.

There is also the possibility that the neighbor might not have taught this to their dog. Dogs do this kind of thing all on their own sometimes. They seem to love to poop in other people yards, and chase their cats, and tip over their garbage cans, and kill their chickens, ect.

Do you want satisfaction for being treated bad by an asshole neighbor, then the sky is the limit. Just dont let a little dog poop in your yard get you into serious trouble.

The first thing I did when I bought my house was to put up a fence. It keeps my dogs in and other dogs out. Ask the owner of your house if a fence is in your future.

Last resort.

If all else fails, and more that one dog owner has heard this, threaten to kill his dog if it comes into your yard. Let the dog owner know that you would reluctantly leave a pan of antifreeze out where his dog can find it, on your property of course, and he will see how easy it would be for you to just kill his dog, and it would be his fault for not taking care of business.

I think a cooperative solution would be the best kind. Everybody is happy, and the dog is no longer calling the shots.

Good luck.

Anti freeze wouldn't kill a dog. It would **** him up and kill some brain cells, sure as hell, but it wouldn't kill him.

wow, 1st gen, that's some level headed advice you just gave there...
I appreciate your thoughts, will take them gladly.... I dont want to hurt a dog, i think they're sometimes better people than most humans... thanks & peace.

I agree about hurting the dog. I wouldn't do it either, but if you told the guy that you sometimes have hazards like that lying around, he might rethink his stance on letting the dog roam free. Your just looking out for the dogs safety.

....so this fat asshole and his jabba the hut looking wife come running over cussing, yelling and calling me names.... (long story short these people crossed several different lines with me) ...all I said in return was "whats wrong with me not wanting your dog to s*** in my lawn?" ....then the dude (he about 55 yrs old 6"3 300lbs) comes into my yard saying "come over here" in a threatening manner.... I said "are you inviting me to something?"

If you lived in the "sunshine" state, thanks to Florida's recently passed gun law, you could have just shot him (your neighbor) as soon as you felt "threatened". (gun)

I probably would go out with a shovel as soon as the dog is crapping in your yard. Once the dog is done, you shovel up the crap and throw it in his yard (make sure the neighbor sees you). If the dog tries to attack you, you just beat it with the shovel - problem solved!! J/K (kind of).

Or you could teach your dog to poop in your neighbor's yard.

I just wanted to give this a quick (bump) before it falls off the last page... because I think this will have a funny update some time soon.... (cheers) heh. (hah)

This kind of thing is exactly why I live in an upscale gated neighborhood. I can't stand these types of lowlifes and I am liable to stick a shotgun up his ******* nose. I don't have a lot of money left over for bulls*** but my neighbors are great, my property value is awesome, I will have 12 full time security guards, and if some dipshit tried this kind of thing they would get a fine.
However, EVERYONE who has come out here has come out for the same reasons No FUCKTARD neighbors! There are some nice immeneties to (thumb)
Good luck and if you can just move away from these assholes.

what does living in a gated community have to do with this? it's just fairy insurance. you could still possibly end up w/a bad neighbor... it's a gamble wherever you go. a friend of mine lives in a fairly shady area of the city, but his neighbors are cool as hell. on the other hand, i live in a suburb where the average home price is above 400k -- but my faggot neighbor across the street is a coke dealer, and the kid behind us is a convicted felon.

i dont think your generalization fits very well.

I made no such generalization you took offense to an "imaginary" generalization.
It is far less a "gamble" when you have Doctors, Lawyers, Business owners, School Superintendents living around you instead of some Billy-Bob Assbag, or Thug etc. add infinitum.
It is hard to build out here, you must go through an extensive pre-approval process, meet all the Architectural Control Committees demands, and be a member of the HOAA. The security guards will eventually have police powers, and will be able to levy enforceable fines against those who choose to break the covenants and deed restrictions. If someone chooses to continue to violate the restrictions then the HOAA will file suit against them, obtain a judgment and they will be forced to sale their home.
This is a master planned community if you act like an ass and directly affect the other homer owners well being you well be thrown out period end of sentence.

With a strong HOOA and Deed restrictions that you must sign and agree to in closing the rules are binding. There is no gamble it will simply be tough luck for anyone who consistently and flagrantly chooses to break the rules.
This not a "suburb" it is a master planned private 3600 acre Golf community.

P.S. Sorry you hood sucks.
