I present to you, the Passion5

One ECU is definitely possible because the ABS system has its own brain. I'm running my swap on megasquirt and have functional gauges, ABS, fans, ect. Just spend a lot of time tracing wiring and be sure that each and every joint / splice is done well.

I don't have ABS so that makes it that much easier ;)

Interesting idea using that pully puller, not sure that would have helped though, i might have pulled the hub off, even the rust was rusted lol.

Sorry guys, It's been pretty hectic with the holidays and all, my wife and I have been doing a lot of traveling to see family. As far as progress goes, I got the knuckles out and a buddy of mine is pressing in the new wheel bearings, I should have those back on Saturday. In the meantime I found a spring comrpessor and mated the Front MSP springs to the GR2's (No compressor needed for the rears) along with all of the new rubbers :D. I've been slowly stripping the engine bay to get ready for paint and I also have to fix some rust over by the master cylinder, looks as if some brake fluid spilled and was left to eat the paint/primer.

Sunday's Mission: Get the P5 off of the jack stands and back to a rolling chassis
a. Install hubs + Front suspension
b. Install Inner/Outer Tie Rods
c. Remove/Disasseble/Reassemble rear suspension

True to my busy lifestyle, we have christmas party this weekend that will take me out of town Sat/Sun, but there should be enough time to get some work done on Sunday. Maybe after the 15th I'll tow it over to my parents place to live in the garage; at which point the real fun begins...

BTW, I have a full set of cloth seats and door panels that need to go pretty soon.

Sadly, I wasn't able to get anything done today...by the time we got back in town and picked up my knuckles it was already dark out; my backyard doesn't make for the ideal workspace. Maybe throughout the week I can piece it together and have a rolling chassis by the 15th. I'll do a better job of keeping you guys in the loop, promise. Also, this thread needs more pictures...I should fix that too...

i know what you mean about outside work places. im doing my build in my carport and it is starting to get brutal at night

Haha, a carport would be a step up for me :p

I got the hubs on yesterday. Going to pick up a floor lamp so I can work on it at night, once the tierods go on, she'll be ready to tow. Hopefully New Years weekend it will be in the garage (finger's crossed).

Subbin. Holy crap, mate. You've brought that car along quite well! Looking good! Keep up the good work!

ps- if you still need an KL A/C compressor, you can have mine. I am deleting the A/C on my KL. PM me if you want it. Say $20+ shipping.

Can not wait to see how well the KL engine fits into the little P5. Between you and Lewis7789 putting in the 6 this is going to be interesting. By the way thanks for the heads up on using mazda6 rotors and calipers.
