i need some input

im beginning to think theres no restrictor on the pressurized side, and that the turbos are junk. i dont know about Xs power... but a turbo cracking in half could be heat related (no oil cooler), as for shaft play - to me, sounds like either oil starvation or lack of restriction.

. Xs power... turbo cracking in half

did a little research and it seems to me that xs power turbos are the same as ss auto chrome turbos. alot of the guys that buy these turbos *cough honda cough* have had them split in half. they say it wasnt welded or anything almost like they used "some kind of epoxy"

and theres more than just this one.

but yeah. yudkib is right. the turbos are just junk

edit: heres the pics of the thing broken in half

X2. Either buy a turbo you can rebuild or have rebuilt or buy new. That is my theory. If its too good to be true....... it is.

theres a lot of t2 flange turbos available on the boards right now from reputable companies like garrett... i want to say theres a couple stock turbos for 300 or less. that would be much wiser than another "budget" turbo - even if it has 50k miles on it.

After reading what kind of snails you were buying, my advice would be:

Stop buying s*** turbos....

And buddy, if you're breaking or even shaving impeller blades due to excessive play, you now have metal in your motor.... Just a fringe benefit of "saving money" by using s*** turbos....

Ok well as far as i know the xs power turbos are pretty close to the ss auto chrome turbos, but my ? is if a stock turbo will fit on a t3 flange, That is what my manifold is and any one herd about godspeed turbo i found one for 250 and i was thinking about it but i don't know haven't herd much about them.I'm getting oil to the turbo because i took off the oil line and the oil shot out in a stream.

yes i kinda figured there was some metal in there but can it blow past the fmic and i also have a metal screen over the maf to stop any thing that got in by some stupid chance.

stock turbo is not t3 flanged so no it will not work. Find a real t3 turbo from some honda guys or somewhere, you are wasting your time/money buying that cheap s***. There are some things that you can get away with going cheap, turbo is not one of those

Get a magnetic drain plug for the oil pan asap, and I'd guess that the screen you're using is not fine enough mesh to stop the particulates from a grinding impeller blade.

Don't buy junk turbos. In the end you don't end up saving anything.

Are you intentionally ignoring what we are telling you, or do you think it's fun to blow turbos?! What part of STOP BUYING s*** TURBOS!! did we not make clear?

EDIT: That was kind of a dick post, so I apologize, but seriously dude.. spend the money on a quality turbo.

Ok i here you about the s*** turbos but i haven't herd any thing about godspeed turbos so i don't know about them other then that I'm looking a Turbonetices and a garret, But a want to go with a mid sized turbo like a a/r42 or a/r50 for mid range boost.

follow the flock on this one bro.

A good turbo will not cost $250 new, I promise.

I know you are getting a flogging from all the people here, but we really are just trying to help you out. I personally dont want to see a good Mazda be rigged up with junk. Neither does any other enthusiast on here. Look around and do some homework, you will find that its always better to get quality over quantity anyday

Ok well you get what you pay for right, might as well get it and be done with it, do you guys think if i buy this one i will still need a oil cooler or not?

An oil cooler is always a welcome addition with a turbo. Try to get your hands on a stock MSP one, it's a pretty clean and compact install, but they're kinda expensive new and hard to find used.
