I might get called back up for Military Service??

Alright, for any of you guys that served in the Guard or Reserves, have you recieved anything in the mail lately??

I was an MP for 4 years in the Army National Guard, and I finished my service in 1999. I received a letter from the Dept. of Defense saying that I needed to contact my former armory and see if I have and orders pending to be called up, even though I am not enlisted any more... This is some scary stuff...

I am going to call after lunch today, but I was gonna see if anyone here got something like that...

Oh well, maybe I'll have a change of scenery or something different from programming for a while. Although, as lazy as I am now, the thought of all that PT is a little daunting...

If your DND is like ours they have a waiting list( Canada is 1 year I believe) and during that time they can go" Cumm'ere you!" if they feel that you are neccessary to them. It sucks but it prevents a bunch of highly trained nancy boys from running at the first sign of danger. A friend of mine left the army, joined the French foreign legion, came back to Canada, and was told to re-enlist.He left because he didn't want to be promoted to Sargent( nancy boy). When he re-joined he was an instant sargent so to piss them off he joined the Regular Force. Now he was instant nobody, private(recruit). They started to do the same thing ( rapid promotion). So he went to the Base shrink and was discharged immediately. I guess four tours in the JUG will mess you up if you let it.( if you don't know what the JUG is don't ask, you don't get it)

my husband might have to be sent off. he got his small pox shot like last month. hes in a medical unit but also attached to a feild unit, he got his orders for standby about a couple months ago too. I'm dreading it. :'( :'(

I got a letter.....

stating to call ASAP (also highlighted) to update my records. I served active, then reserves, now in the IRR. I called last week and the SFC wasn't there, they said call back next week. ???

I finally got hold of a Specialist over at the armory and he told me not to worry about it. I served out my 4 years almost 4 years ago! Evidently they were just checking old records and my status never was updated correctly... Oh well... Kind of a weird thing to get in the mail.
