its not a mystery that the entertainment industry as whole is "left wing" if you want to call it that.

what is a mystery to me is that people get worked up over a piece of cinema as though its going to upset some kind of delicate balance we percieve as being in place. people have minds of thier own (whether or not they choose to use them is another argument) its thier right to take away from that piece of cinema whatever they choose. if they take it merely as a piece of entertainment, then so be it. if they take it as some landmark personal pseudo-religious experience that is life altering, again, so be it. we call that freedom of interpretation, freedom of thought and freedom of will. i highly doubt that any "liberal agenda", real or not, is trying to brainwash the general populace with a homosexual cowboy film. Its like Dan Quayle calling for Murphy Brown to be taken off the air because in his mind encouraged promiscuity and fatherless children. I don't know about you, but seeing Candice Bergen having kids and thinking about her having sex didn't make me want to go out and have sex or create life.

its like the argument that videogames that are violent make people do violent things. thats bulls***, folks. everyone has a choice to view or partake of whatever media they want. if you don't like it, turn it off or don't turn it on period. this delicate sensibility bulls*** is an excuse for vacancy of parental or personal accountability anyways. quit whining about the "media forcing things on us" and take responsibility for your own choices. its common ******* sense to me.

I would rather them make a movie showing God as a gay man (and I want royalties from this) than watch a movie of gay cowboys. And yes I"m a cowboy. But you are right, it don't matter. It is just a movie and I can't see why anyone would get upset by it.

Once you people pass the age of 20, you might see more clearly the liberal agenda Hollywood is tring to advance.

Over 25 rave reviews in major publications for a minor motion picture released in very few theatres and raking in a whopping 4.5 million dollars in a weekend? Does no one find that strange?

(werd) So true. Let's put it this way, if it was just about straight cowboys we wouldn't be hearing a thing. Hollywood is about 99% liberal -but it's supporting media uses the same "Fair & Balanced' perception FOX so deceptively employs.

You're a gay cowboy.

LOL you wished, I'll take being called names for being a cowboy from TX (which by the way is I've never seen kids playing LETS BE GUY GUYS IN THE CITY!) over being a gay man from Cali or any other city for that matter. The old saying that the only thing in TX are stirs and queirs, well if we'd never have that if the Cali people would have stayed there. But hey we have a big state and we don't mind sharing. (glare)

Hollywood. makes. movies. to. make. money. There. is. no. *******. political. agenda.

What is wrong with you people? Do you really think that this movie is advocating that we should all go out and become gay cowboys?

I couldn't disagree more...sometimes I think Hollywood is willing to take a loss to make a political statement -especially during oscar season. On the other hand, during the summer, yes, Hollywood makes movies to simply make money.

All producers and financiers see is dollar signs. They may release a politically-charged movie, but it's only due to the fact that the controvery and hype surrounding it will up both ticket sales and rental revenue.

I'm so sick of everyone seeing these little conspiracies. Whatever makes them the most money is what they sell to the public. It has nothing to do with making a statement. There is no reasoning behind assuming that Hollywood is somehow this den of left-wingers pushing some sort of evil liberal hegemony.

wow. i must be pretty low on the brain scale. i go to movies cause they look good to me.

i lack the ability to rip a movie into shreds to see all these messges. i usually leave with , i like it or not.
