Blondie, since you got your Mazda 3GT (auto, GFX package) for a little over $26,300, I'm assuming you reside in Alberta?

was just browsing cuz i bought my Mazda3 this weekend.
and the whole 'we don't negotiate on the 3' is a load of crap, you just have to know how to talk to them and make sure you do your research first before you go in.

I got the Winning Blue Mica, Mazda3 GT sedan with GFX package, tinted windows, Mazda rubber floor mats, and all taxes (Freight, PDI, tire, a/c) all for $24,300 (note: i used my $500 grad rebate, so it would have been $24,800) and it would have come to over $26,300 if i had not negotiated. i would assume that the only difference between alberta and the east coast would be the PST and the freight since they have to ship it much further from the vancouver port.

one thing i did first was talk to people to find the best dealership in town, and go to them last. this way you can pick up some info that you can use to negotiate (ie. what inventory is and where the cars are, delivery dates, and try to get a quote so this way you know that you can go lower than what they say.) also, i went to a website called carcostcanada.com and it gives you the dealer cost of the car compared to the msrp, so you know what the mark up is and how much you can deal.

that's my input. i guess it does all depend on market demand too, but my car is the only one in it's color coming in to town in the next 2 months and i still saved my self $1500. i guess it's a good sign when a dealer says he wants you to come with him next time he buys a house

maybe i confused you all with too much babble ....
yes, i'm in Alberta, but i paid $24,300 for my mazda3 gt with gfx and fully tinted windows, manual 5 speed (no offence, but the auto sport shift is no where near being in the same league as the 5 speed manual ... too smooth of a gear box to pass up) and that included all the taxes (ie. gst, tire, ac, dock fees...)
they had priced everything out to approx. $26,300, but i got them down to $24,800 and used the grad rebate that mazda offers, so the final price came to the $24,300 ....
i'm all for people paying the full price, cuz that means that it'll keep the value of the car longer, but for the sake of all your bank balances, i hope you all negotiate cuz any dealer with drop his price at least some...
