But it also mentions to use light throttle and simply drive like a granny to save more MPG.

Changing the spark plug gap is not a requirement for this to work, its just another way to help your MPG. If I were to do that now it would add in another variable making any results hard to determine if is was the acetone or less plug gap.

BTW first gas tank with 3oz/10gals is done, it did increase my mileage from @26mpg to 30mpg, yes 15% increase and no my driving habits were exactly the same as before.

I do understand the process, I have done this many many times before. My point was to show that even on just one tank of gas there was a positive increase in MPG, meaning this stuff DOES work. I know my car enough to know that I am getting more MPG than I did before. For the record I do use the same gas, Pioneer gas and even the same gas station, I drive the same route everyday, 75%hwy, 25%city, weather conditions have been relatively consistent.
I will keep doing this and keep records on the MPG then do a couple tanks w/o acetone to get some solid #'s for the sake of all the doubters.

I think you're missing the point that it's difficult to get an accurate MPG reading on one tank of fuel. Over 5 tanks or so, keeping accurate track of the fuel quantity and mileage, you'll have a good average and that will be pretty accurate I'd think.

I know I don't have the most accurate #'s yet, but I know this works, I have not been able to get this many km's on a tank of gas since summer time. I'll keep it up until this liter of acetone is done, not sure if I'll do it again, kind of a pain in the ass measuring it and having to make sure you get the mixture just right. Too much for me to think about at the gas pump. I have proven to MYSELF that this works, I have no more interest in trying to convince all you........that this works.

You can't claim a mpg increase the way you did it--there are way too many variables on one tank of gas, not to mention, how do you know how many gallons of gas you actually used?

1) First fill your tank. Set your trip odo or record your mileage.
Drive till the tank is empty, fill it again and divide the number of miles by
the
number of gallons puchased. Repeat this process at least five or six times
for a relatively accurate mpg.

2 Then add the acetone, or whatever mod/additive you are comparing and
repeat the above process. Compare the results.

Using this exact method this past summer and fall I appreciated an increase of about 30-40 km/tank after the addition of acetone to each tank. During the testing period I attempted to keep as many variables constant as possible. I recorded ambient temperature as well as the manner in which the car was driven during each tank so that these variables could be considered with the overall outcome. I will repeat the process again in the spring and summer just to confirm the results obtained this past year.

-if this were really beneficial, wouldn't someone be packaging it up and selling it? I mean, fuel additives are already sold in stores. Why wouldn't someone just start selling containers of acetone to autozone as a fuel additive and make money out of it.

...and no, big oil probably has nothing to do with the conspiracy of concealing this - after all it's not a replacement for gas, it's just an additive. If anything, Exxon/Mobil would itself start selling it's own line of fuel additives that contain acetone and make a profit out of it.

My Durango get's 15mpg on the freeway. I now get 19-20mpg. I have done nothing different(use the same gas stations,driving style, roads,etc) amd have noticed an increase.

Just think, when they get everyone off of gas & make you burn ethanol we will all get mpg that bad no matter what size or age the car is & get to rebuild the motor more often.

I give up..............who? I didn't. Got mine @ home depot. Oh, wait, I forgot, urban legend thing. I put gas in acetone container & then add it in small amounts to the tank when filling up so I get more miles per tank.

That's nobody's fault but your own for buying it.

You can also turn that around and say I can't believe people complain about gas prices when they unnecessarily drive a huge beast that gets 9mpg.

I never complained about the rising gas prices. Nor did i complain about the excessive engine changes that i made that required me to run 93 octane or better in the truck. It was all in fun.
