Ok, so as you may see from my list of mods below I have the BEGI kit ANd the Greddy Type S BOV... Well last night I tried to figure out how I'd suppliment the greddy valve in for the recirculating one Corky sends us.

to make a long story short(er) it won't work. Something about the vacuum being perged before it reaches mass airflow and causing hte engine not to run AND since the recirculating valve routes back into the turbo inlet pipe, I'm left with an input left empty there, and per corky the gasses must return to the sytem. This is what corky said about it per email:

. If it vents at a manifold vacuum within operating range of the engine, then the flow meter gets partially bypassed and the engine won't run. Modifying it to accept a vent is a pain in the butt. In my view, there is no performance benefit to the greddy valve over the Mitsu we included. Regardless, can't block the tube off as the vented gas must go back into the system.

Can anyone elaborate more on this before I go ahead and sell my type s?

I was advised this by many techs. So being the stubborn person that I am, insiting on using the greddy type s. I used the bov without routing it back into the inlet pipe. Well whoala!!! It works and since then we have turboed 3 cars with the type s bov.
So the moral of the story is this:
Yes the bov works on our maf systems and m2 miata systems as well;)

So spoolin',

What would you do to the opening on the inlet tube? Cap it off?

Thanks!!!

The inlet tube?
You mean on the BOV?
That is where the air discharges from. You just leave that open and enjoy the sweet sounds:D

hehe, no I mean the inlet tube that goes to the turbo. Corky's design is that his recirculating valve A.) Get's a vacuum line, B.) is connected to the throttle inlet C.) and is also connected to the turbo inlet (which is where the air is recycled)...

that's why I was asking what I should do with that pipe (turbo inlet) that is not going to have anyting connected to it's branch.

but... I think I 've figured out what I'm going to do. I'm going to use that branch as a form of moutnig the greddy type S AND block it off that way as well. 2 birds with one stone. ;)

If FM's kit includes a BPV, why on earth would you want to use a BOV? BPV's are much more efficient, and easier on the engine. If it's simply because of the noise the POV makes then you need to check your priorities.
