I Hate Mazda

Message Body: I went to get a few things done today. I was informed
that my entire warranty was voided because they had found a boost
controller in my glovebox when they were doing the computer reflash that
I had done under a TCB a few months prior. They refused to do any work
for me, including even my bumper which was sagging, and my rear
suspension bushings, both being documented problems in the past, and
that this wasnt their fault, is was MNOA who voided it. This is just
disrespect on their part, a bumper has absolutely nothing to do with the
powertrain even if it was voided. I am furious that there were people
going though my glovebox when they had absolutely no business anywhere
near it. Also I know my rights regarding the Magnusson-Moss act, and the
fact that said boost controller was not installed, nor was it even mine
for that matter gives me a pretty good case. I will be contacting a
lawyer regarding legal issues of your employees searching through my
personal belongings, and would like to know what your response is
regardin this matter. The person who dealt with me directly was the
Mazda Service Consultant, Erik Rodriguez. Please email me and let me
know if your still going to pursue voiding my warranty, and if not I
would like to know why and have a printout for myself as to the exact
cause and grounds for it termination. I would also like to be redirected
to a dealer that will treat me with the respect I deserve as a customer
of your company. Thank You

ear Robert,

Thank you for contacting Mazda North American Operations. I appreciate
the opportunity to respond to you.

In regards to your inquiry, please note that our offices were already
contacted by the District Representative specifically noting that
certain warranty items were to declined for coverage on your vehicle
due to aftermarket modification and damage that has been inspected. The
bumper you mentioned was determined to be damaged by outside
influences. Please remember that your warranty only covers actual
defects in materials or workmanship, NOT those concerns related to
improper use, modification or outside influence damage. If you have
questions about the determinations made, contact the dealership that
inspected them.

Any such related repairs requests have been declined, and we will stand
behind the decision that was relayed to us in advance by the District
Manager who is in place specifically to make those determinations.
Please understand that we must respectfully decline any non-defect
repair coverage, that this matter has been reviewed, will not be
reconsidered and that our decision is final. Any further correspondence
will certainly be documented for our records, but only for such
documentation.

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda. It has been my pleasure to
assist you. Please give us your opinion about our e-mail service. Click

Well that's lame, ask him about the bushings and clutch, which he didn't address. Also, you might want to proof read the letter before you send it, there were quite a few spelling/gramatical mistakes. Not trying to make fun or anything, it's just you want your letters looking as professional as possible. Good luck.

yeah i was using the mazda form on their website and i was in a little bit of a hurry, but thanks for pointing that out. I also noticed he pretty much blew off a lot of the things i was saying, and gave a lot of vague repsonses for the others, along with not even mentioning about my statment regarding the employees going through my things

From the stories ive read, these other people with voided warranties had to have mazda prove first the use of the aftermarket accessory causing the problem, and usually it only voids part of the warranty. an mbc in the glove box would by no means void an entire warranty. this service dept at that dealer is just ****** up, like i said
can you just take off the parts before you get it serviced? will they know?

*scream*
That is so pussy on so many levels. F-ing Mazda will go out of business some day because of their horrendous service and I will take great pride and joy when I see it happen. He didn't address your note about going through your personal things because he knows there is no valid reason that it should have happened. On that 1 issue alone you have them by their short and curlies, so take it too them. You have every right to store any items you choose in your car. Somebody should make up a vinyl sticker that says in big letters "Mazda's Service Sucks Hairy Ass" and affix that to the car. Believe me, as often as these turds require service work and trips to the dealership, I'm sure it would affect their sales.

Concour's Mazda sucks giant ass too -- I tried to educate them about the PCM flash, showed them shitloads of Mazda's emails, and they come back to me with "you have to prove you have the problem before we'll do anything." Un-*******-real. I will never visit Concour's for anything. Here's another long story of another "satisfied" Concour's customer:(upyours)

Like I've been saying for years, if the f-ers aren't going to honor the f-ing warrenty, then they shouldn't make us purchase it.

thanks for that link girth, channel 4 wanted to do something about that first story, so I sent them a message too and maybe they pursue this as well.

nope, but you have much more potential to abuse the weapon then somebody who doesn't have a gun in teh glovebox..........(yawn)
dude you are missing the point...the POTENTIAL to modify a car does not allow them to void a warranty....I have the potential to kill the next guy i see, with a lead pipe. So if i was walking around, i had more POTENTIAL to kill a man, and that makes me more of a criminal vs a dude with no lead pipe?

We aren't quantifying potential points here. "Oh, he has more potential to modify his car, so we'll just void his s*** now". Here, take this lead pipe, but watch out, it gives you +50 potential killing points, and the limit its 55.

You playing devils advocate here doesnt make sense at all.....it makes just about as much sense as this entire post...

"-The fried socket on my amber sidemarker lens is a result of the gel caps I put on my signals (the same kind they use for dash lightbulbs by the way) and it affected the wiring system"- clownphish

Those things will cause the temp. to increase dramatically at the bulb, I have seen many times where they melt the socket.......(sorry it annoyed me....)

Emode- I feel for ya man. It sucks when dealerships decide they need to be anal and make an example from someone. I have several MSP's that I do work on that have various mods. however they are all under the understanding that doing any modifications has the potential of voiding all of there warrenties. That letter basically seals the fate of your car though....... Hope you don't have too man more problems w/ your car.

Rob, i know this is old as hell but what ever happened? I was thinkin of takin my p5 there to get some belts + 30k tune.... but maybe not

hmmm. That sucks. It just comes down to money, the company doesn't get any more profit out of our car, so they stopped caring.

As your attorney, I cannot advise you to do this. I recommend finding a dealer that will not flag your car and will actually perform warranty work. I'm sure there is a beter dealer than these fuckers around, who won't void your warranty for having a radar detector plugged in.
