ok i got two mmats 10's and a 1000watt amp and all new wire. so i put it in then it was playing for about a half and hour then the fuse blew.. whats the best way to fix this prob.

just get a bigger fuse?

No, fuses are their to protect teh wire. You might want to ask 1stMp3InNH, he knows everthing about car audio. I had a prob like that but my amp was bad.

The fuse in the power wire i forgot to add that just so you guys dont think its the one on the amp..

Ok...what size fuse is on the amp? What size fuse is on the power wire? What ga. wire are you using? What 1000W amp are you using? What's the load to the amp from the subs (ohms)? Did you check for loose connections and shorts?

Here's the deal on all taht s***, that amp was a dud, it fried one of the voice coils on the sub, (john plz dont kill me) ive sent it to kbaudio.com to repair it. The guy on the phone told me most likely what was wrong and that it can be fixed. So 275+62 bux later, the amp should be as good as new. BTW, its a JL 500/1.

DONT BUY OFF OF EBAY!!!! HEED THE WARNING OF 1ST.

The sub needs to be sent into ED, they will fix it for 100 bux. We (me ryan, and ahmad) think one of the dvc's is fried. So i dont have a system as of yet :(. The line output converter is good and so is the wiring.

But man, when that thing did work for like 20 min, it blew my pants off. Damn taht sub sounded good.

I hope for teh best that everything works out and i aint ripped off almost 500 bux due to a bad amp.

What is the subs resitance?
Is it a DVC?
How is the sub wired?

Fuses can blow for several reasons:
1. Too small
2. Poor ground for amp cuases the amp to struggle
3. Impedance of the sub is too low and is cause the amp to go into saturation
4. Power wire is touching ground some where sparaticly

These are a few of the more common ones besides a smoked amp.

Could you be any less specific? (rofl)

The ground should always be to primary body metal (cars floor). The Paint at the ground location should be scraped off. Use either a stock bolt, or a few screws to secure the ground to the floor of the car. Be damnsure not to hit a gas tank or brake line when using screws.

Ok so your saying the best ground is the cars floor
and i prbo should move form where i have it at.

ok im updating now... heres what i get the fuse blows everytime if i go to like 20-25 on my head... Any ideas.....
