I finally did it too!!

Yup, not your easy bolt on install that's for sure. How close are those hitch ends to the exhaust tips?

Pretty close, about 2 inches. But no bangng or noise. It's actually closer in the front where the pipe comes out of the muffler and turns 90 degrees to the tip. It's about .5-.75 of an inch there.

I was hoping that the hitch ends would be covered by the bumper cover but alas no.

nice bruce!

Thanks Mark.

Also, might be using the bike rack to hold my skiis in the winter. Will be testing that as well.

(2thumbs) nice! i wished i could still ski...(boom02).... how do you like driving RWD in winter?

Love it. It's what I'm used too, probably you as well. Never liked front wheel drive in the winter. Great to get going but terrible once up to speed.

For RWD winter, need limited slip diff, good set of snows. Miata has perfect weight balance so there is always good grip.

When are you getting yours Mark??

ya, i always drove stick rwd's or auto 4 wheel...truck and suv...but i did like the fwd and never had any problems in the snow with my p5..
who knows, probably the spring/summer next yr....i'd love to get a hard top too...we'll see

I love FWD in the winter.. so easy...

But you can't drive it fast in the snow like a RWD. You lose the front, you've lost the steering and power. FWD's, since they are typically nose heavy, understeer and at times, the rear of the car becomes tail happy.

Eh, I've owned all types of cars and driven each one in NE nasty weather. FWD, RWD, 4WD, and AWD. Some with snow tires, some with traction control, some with nothing but cheap all season tires. All depends on what you feel comfortable with.

Agreed, me too. RWD rocks for me.

Went to Montreal this weekend, top down all the time. Beautiful weather. Got to see some old college buddies I have not seen in 2 years. Had a blast and ate well!!

let one of my friends drive my car while I was driving his. Was very neat to watch the Miata as he tossed it around in curves and on the highway. Love the way that car looks.

On another note, used the bike rack and hitch to take my bike back to target to get a repair done under warranty. Very nice, easy to use and did not wobble at all.

Also picked up last nite a used Dash hawk. Waiting for it to be delivered.

I bought mine used as well. I painted it black to match the dash color though.

The Dash Hawk is probably the best investment I have made. Being able to watch and monitor numerous things on your vehicle is priceless. I also have mine setup as a shift light. :D

Cool. Loking forward to that. Shift light sounds interesting, I assume it's easy to do and you can set the RPM?

No argument there John, BUT, don't need it all the time, more expensive for maintenance, components, tires, gas. More complicated, more to go wrong.

thats why it only comes out in snowy or messy conditions(or hauling the trailer) if the roads are clear then the miata it is.

Installed the Dash Hawk last night. Was pretty easy to set up. Put it temporarily near the left hand defroster vents, not happy with the location but it will do for now.

I am missing the USB cable. Waiting to hear back from the guy I bought it from.

It's your typical USB cable. If you have one laying around it will work. I have a couple laying around my place if you can't get one from the guy.

As for the shift light, yes you can set it at a specific RPM range. I'll bring my laptop with the program on it to show you. I have mine set for three different RPMs with different colors for each.

Have you seen where mine is located? It might be a place to look into to mounting yours. (Mine is on the steering column)

ps Posting from the cell phone = fail.
